Two great mics, one great price.

CAD Equitek e100 Condenser Microphone:
The second version of the popular E100, it's a high-sensitivity supercardioid condenser mic that excels for live applications, capturing the subtleties of choirs, pianos, and stringed instruments and performs equally well in high-pressure live percussion applications. A -20dB pad switch and an 80Hz low-cut roll-off switch let you customize response. Provides remarkable transparency and detail. 10Hz-18kHz frequency response.

CAD e300 Multipattern Condenser Microphone:
Captures transparent, airy uppers and mids, coupled with a rich, silky-smooth low end. Combining lightning-fast transient response and pinpoint precision with an enormous upfront presence, the e300 offers unparalleled performance from critical studio tracking scenarios to live reinforcement. The 1.1" 24k gold-sputtered dual-diaphragm condenser capsule is hand-dampened for consistent frequency response. A hi-pass filter features 6dB octave @ 80Hz and a 20dB non-capacitive pad. The stainless/brass triple stage pop/EMI filter delivers unmatched ballistic stability with high SPL characteristics and plosives control. Sophisticated laser-trimmed op-amp circuitry provides increased management of fast transient response. Frequency response of 10Hz-20kHz.

needs quality phantom power

CADs are good mics that require more than usual phantom power, not voltage- amperage. That might account for crunchy distortion and lack of detail experienced here- I have earlier generation CAD mics that are very good, just need professional phantom power.

I love these mics I needed a couple more micsfor a recordig project, I was working on.I have been using AKG great mics, dead set on the AKG, but they were out of the ones I wanted so I thought I give CAD a chance I`m so happy with these mics, I`m so glad I took the chance you won`t be sorry you did.

great mics

The CAD e300 and e100 are great mics. I'm wishing that I had money for a second pair for stereo recordings. I use them plugged into the preamps on my MOTU 828mkII. The recordings have been great. I've used both of the instruments on vocals, accoustic guitar, and euphonium (a brass wind instrument also known as a tenor tuba). They've done really well in those applications. The e300 is a great LDC, and I like playing around with the omni setting. I have an AT3035, and the e300 is definitely a step up. The e100 has a unique sound that I've liked in all of its applications so far. It has a cool sound on accoustic guitar. The only worries I had were the fact that they use batteries and that part of the housing is made of plastic, but they seem quite durable, although metal would have been preferable. The batteries haven't given me any trouble after the initial charge a few months ago. They just trickle charge themselves every time I use them, and they give you the option of recording on the go without phantom power. These mics are definitely underrated; I recommend giving them a shot.

These microphones are awesome for the price. I previously owned an E100 several years ago and at that time, paid almost as much as I did for both of these mics put together. They have awesome sound quality. I have used the E100 for miking guitars, pianos, small ensembles and plays on stage. It has great sound. The only problems I have had are related to feedback on occasion. The mic is fairly sensitive to placement issues but more than overcomes that with its awesome sound quality. I just used the E300 this last week to mike and record a 30 voice choir at church. The recording was awesome! These mics are a great value and are a quality product. I would recommend these mics to anyone. What a great deal!

I returned this pair because of poor quality

I really wanted to like these mikes - they were horrible and unuseable. Crunchy, distorted, lacking in detail - maybe I got a defective pair but I sent them back. It's not a deal at $*** for this kind of crap.
