Overview

Classic Helios FET compression with analog punch and control.

Few compression sounds are as closely tied to classic British recording as the aggressive, explosive character of the original ADR/Helios FET design. The H2 Audio H760 FET Compressor/Limiter Helios Module brings that circuit concept back as a hand-assembled, 100% analog dynamics processor built for the proprietary H2 Audio 0011 Series format. Based on the original ADR/Helios compressor/limiter—and associated with the massive drum sound heard on Led Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks"—the H760 combines five selectable compression ratios with adjustable attack and release settings, a fixed threshold and a dedicated limiter section. A transformer-balanced signal path further preserves the analog architecture at the heart of the design. Whether shaping drums, controlling vocals or adding punch to guitars, the H760 offers engineers a distinctive approach to dynamics built around the response and character of classic FET compression.

Note: The H760 is a proprietary H2 Audio 0011 Series module. It requires a compatible H2 Audio 0011 Rack for power and will not fit a 500 Series chassis.

Selectable FET Compression for Focused Dynamic Control

The H760 gives engineers direct control over how its FET compression responds to a source without burying the process beneath layers of parameters. Five selectable ratio settings provide different degrees of compression, while selectable attack and release times let you shape how quickly the circuit reacts and recovers. A fixed threshold keeps the operating approach straightforward, leaving the input level and timing controls central to dialing in the desired response. The separate limiter section extends that dynamic control when stronger peak management is needed. Together, these functions make the H760 adaptable to sources ranging from transient-heavy drums and guitars to vocals that need more consistent level and presence.

Transformer-Balanced Analog Path Preserves Helios Character

Rather than digitally modeling the behavior of vintage hardware, the H760 maintains an entirely analog signal path built around the original ADR/Helios design. Transformer-balanced circuitry and custom transformers form part of that architecture, preserving the distinctive analog character H2 Audio set out to reproduce. This approach gives recording and mixing engineers access to FET compression designed not only for level control, but also for the punch and dynamic character associated with the original circuit. Each module is hand-assembled in Detroit and built to the original ADR/Helios specifications, connecting the H760's modern production directly to the hardware lineage that inspired it.

Classic Helios Dynamics for Modern Studio Workflows

Designed for engineers seeking analog compression with a distinctive studio heritage, the H760 combines straightforward dynamics control, transformer-balanced circuitry and a dedicated limiter section in a modular format. Its selectable ratio, attack and release settings provide the flexibility to shape drums, vocals and guitars while retaining the punch and dynamic character associated with the original ADR/Helios design. Hand-assembled in Detroit and built to original ADR/Helios specifications, the H2 Audio H760 FET Compressor/Limiter Helios Module brings the character and response of classic FET compression to contemporary recording and mixing workflows.
