I use this as the PA for a small Jazz Club, so far I've just tried it with various musicians and instruments and DJ music as well, we haven't opened yet so I'm trying it out in different situations and I think it will be perfect for the jazz club thang. It has great bottom using pre recorded music and the bluetooth works perfectly and is super handy providing a wireless hookup. Acoustic nylon guitar, bass and vocals sound amazing, hollow body jazz guitar sounds perfect, haven't put keys thru it yet, waiting on my B3 player to be available to see how the tone is, but so far one should fill the whole room (100 peeps) as promised with really good, even great quality sound. I'm stoked that such a simple system and a modern high tech look will make the room sound amazing. For more than 2 instruments and a vocal I am using a mixer feeding it into the line inputs like any other of these type systems and it sounds great. Very impressed and extremely happy. In my humid environment I was recommended to steer away from the Bose system, and with my isolated spot on the globe I would need to send a Bose to another Island or the Mainland for inevitable repairs, so I went with this and I love it. :)

I'm a performing singer/songwriter, wedding singer, nursing home entertainer and church worship director since 2001.

The quality of my sound is VERY important to me.

I'm convinced that a column PA is exactly the best tool for what I do. The column systems that are now coming out like the Eon One makes things very exciting for the singing instrument playing artist who needs to put an iPod on during breaks or during set up or tear down. I purchased a JBL Eon One system to replace my LD System's Maui 28 column system a couple months ago.

First, I'll start with a list of what's important to me and then where this system does the job or fails...

Here's what's important to me.
1. Portability
2. Set-up/tear-down time
3. Built in mixer
4. Sound quality
5. Sound dispersion (horizontal and vertical widths of coverage)
6. How far the sound carries before dropping off
7. Quality of unit, durability
8. Price
9. Feedback rejection

Here's my thoughts after two months of usage at weddings, restaurants and my church.

1. Portability:
It is the best portable solution available since the distance segments and main speaker segment fits into the sub unit creating one solid unit to travel with unlike my last system, the Ld System's Maui 28 which had two separate travel cases (one for the two main speaker segments and one for the sub unit). You will however have to buy the JBL transporter pastored hardened soft case. My Maui system had the padded soft cases included. You would think that all portable units should come with a transport protection case. Silly. The Maui cases didn't include castors and you would have to pay extra for that if you wanted that feature, so it's not too bad.

2. Set-up/tear-down time:
Absolutely the quickest set up. I can set this up in about 1 min. NO EXAGGERATION on that either. I'm not counting running cables like I would have to do with anything, but getting the system ready for cable

Comments about JBL EON ONE Linear-Array PA System with 6-Channel Mixer:

After trying all the available inputs for sound on this unit, it would not deliver near the sound, volume, and clarity than the Bose L1 Compact I have. I purchased this unit based on the seemingly great reviews and JBL name but immediately returned it after comparing it next to my Bose L1 compact.

Comments about JBL EON ONE Linear-Array PA System with 6-Channel Mixer:

Love the sound of the eon one I decided to give the column speakers a go I went to the shop to look at the different ones they had there The three I like at were RCFE evox The Bose l1 compact and the Jbl eon one the Rcf sounded too sharp and in your face to me the Bose sounded great but lacked base and when you tried to drive it The sound started to get messy and distorted as for the JBL sounded full and clean with no distortion Plus it was lots louder than the Bose l1 compact . I'm planning on buying another JBL eon one so I can use 2 in larger venues they are Quick and easy to set up if you want to link up to a external mixer just come out of your mixer and in two Channel 1 Xlr on the eon make sure it's on line not mic you won't be disappointed

Comments about JBL EON ONE Linear-Array PA System with 6-Channel Mixer:

If you have an acoustic act, stop reading here and go and buy these. One system will sound great. Two will be awesome. I compared these to the Bose L1 and these are better. They have significantly more bass and overall presence. My Taylor Acoustic guitar sounds incredible through these. They were designed for acoustic guitar and do not disappoint. I also have a Motown band with bass, guitar, drums, 3 horns and male and female vocals and the question was whether they would do the job for the band. So far, I am pleased. They have a great sound and are loud and clear. The sound quality is superior to my Berringer 1x15 & horn PA speakers. They do not get mid-range distortion at loud volumes. Because the mixer section of the JBL is not sufficient for a band, I am continuing to use my Berringer mixer with the JBL's but this is easy. I simply run a single cable to each JBL from the left and right preamp of the mixer. This allows me to use the 10 channel board and built in vocal effects. I noticed that they disperse sound really well and you do not have the issue of the speakers being super loud right in front of them and then not so loud a few feet to the side. There is one caveat. These are really built for an acoustic setting and I generally end up setting the JBL's pretty close to full volume. However, they have handled it just fine so far and they sound good. They have plenty of bass and I am able to set them behind the band and they do not feedback. I wish that they had a bit more power so that I would not have to drive them so hard. However, they weigh about 40 pounds each and I can carry the entire PA in one trip. They don't distort, get hot or show any other ill effects of being driven hard so I am thinking that they will be okay. We play small to medium venues and I think they are going to be a great, portable addition to my setup.

Comments about JBL EON ONE Linear-Array PA System with 6-Channel Mixer:

This PA speaker seemingly has a mixer with two microphone inputs. Don't think you will be using those...the volume from the microphone inputs is awfully poor. So I connect my Mackie Mixer to the Eon One using the 1/8" jack. I quite like the sound quality, and via the mixer, the volume is great, good fidelity of the music. I had planned to return it, then I compared this unit to what is out there in terms of PA speakers; this was better in my ears than the Bose L1 and an expensive Yamaha speaker of the same price range. So I'm keeping the Eon One. But JBL, please work on the microphone pre-amps if you want to keep selling these. I'm recommending this because of the powerful volume, bass and fidelity but as noted above, don't bother to use the mike inputs.

Plan on using this system for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours and live piano and vocal performances...hopefully the JBL name makes this product perform as needed and as expected!

Comments about JBL EON ONE Linear-Array PA System with 6-Channel Mixer:

I bought a pair of these a while back to use as a band PA. They may not go as loud as many conventional speakers, (but how loud do we really need to be?), but people tell me the coverage out front is great. I think they sound great. Not needing speaker poles is one benefit. Most of the time we don't need floor monitors either. Sometimes we just use one! I also have the dolly/bags so they are really easy to transport. We can just grab them by the strap and pull them along behind us. I was skeptical but now I am sold! Until you own and use these stick speakers it's hard to believe that they will do a good job but they do. Recently we plugged the electric upright bass into one. I thought the tone was better than his Markbass 2x10 combo. I'm sure it won't go as loud but the tone was GREAT!

This is a good product I have a Bose Compact with the Tone Match mixer. Both the Bose and JBL give very good sound. It just depends on with unit you need. I am very happy with both the Bose and the JBL units and would buy both again. The JBL Bluetooth is a great bonus as the Bose you have to get a separate piece of equipment. At present, I use the Bose and Tone Match for my instruments and the JBL for tracks and other inputs.

Comments about JBL EON ONE Linear-Array PA System with 6-Channel Mixer:

Lets just start with the price, and the quality. For the Sound quality and how loud this can go without any distortion you'd expect this speaker to be a lot more money. It's by far the best speaker I've ever had or listened to music out of, it also has a mixer to set this up as a Home Theater or Plug in a Guitar and mic and start jamming! It's for sure worth the money and I would recommend this over the Bose Module.

Comments about JBL EON ONE Linear-Array PA System with 6-Channel Mixer:

I have two of these used for live sound for a loud band. I bought them because I assumed they would have built in feedback control like most other products in this category - they don't, so you have to add feedback control if you want to use them behind the band and eliminate monitors. With the addition of a Dbx feedback eliminator/subharmonic synth, the problem this system has with weak preamps is eliminated and you really can get the nearly 400 watts out of each of them with good clean sound. I assume the onboard preamps were designed in by a non-musician engineer who wanted to make sure no input signal could blow a channel.
If you try to use this system without any preamp, it's going to be very quiet, but nice sound. If you are running out of a board and into this, you'll love it - If you want to run a mic and instrument direct, you'll probably be disappointed because you won't get any volume without a preamp of some sort boosting the input signal. It puts out only as much sound as a 100 watt system except the JBL will be clean sound all the way to the max volume - you really have to push this thing to get distortion.

Great system for small to medium venues. I play at various retirement homes and private parties in the local area. I use a mic with a guitar and a drum machine. This unit puts out a very clear, professional sound. It suits my needs perfectly. I compared the JBL system to the Bose. The JBL has more features, is more versatile, and produces a better sound than the Bose. Totally satisfied.

This unit is not even close to 300 watts. I bought this unit to replace a 100 watt system and it is not as loud! This system can not fill a 20 by 30 room with 40 people.

I play outdoor shows in Panama City Beach, Florida. It can't make it through a set without overheating and shutting off the guitar channel. I've got a fan wide open in the back of it. It's been a nightmare.

Comments about JBL EON ONE Linear-Array PA System with 6-Channel Mixer:

I helped a friend who was looking for a tower system. Compared to the Bose, the JBL had a richer sound overall, Easy to use and the Bluetooth feature was a plus.
In actual use the sound is excellent for any medium sized venue,
Connections simple and using an external mixer can add to your sound options or useful if you need more than 2 connections,

The only negative is that the tower assembly is tricky to put together because the fit is very tight, It sometimes does not connect to the base input and really creates an unnecessary frustration,

Otherwise the unit's sound quality and portability make is a very good system.

It is a good alternative to the Bose system. If your are considering both it has to be your call on which one you like best.

I have a specialty trio, 2 ukuleles and a washtub bass. I use an external mixer . We need 6 true channels, 3 vocals , miked washtub, and 2 instruments which we then out to the JBL Eon one and to us it sounds amazing. Everything is distinct and it acts as a monitor for us too. Less gear to cart around. Set-up and teardown super quick. We mainly play small rooms so for us it's perfect. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the internal mixer. Personal pet peeve mixers calling stereo inputs as 2 channels.

I bought this to reduce the number of wires that I had to connected to a discrete system everytime there was a performance or party at my house. JBL EON ONE is perfect for gatherings where people want to sing and dance. Sound is really loud and clear. No distortion even at 90% volume when input signal level is set right. Even outdoors it is loud enough to get people moving. Love it. No issues with Bluetooth connection. Mic performance is amazing too.
Thanks JBL for another outstanding piece of professional equipment.
