I picked up a pair of these on sale. Instead of cheap, they were were dirt-cheap! They work great- WAY better than my money's worth. I would like to pass along a couple of tips. Do careful level-setting inside the mic. I make gross hooting noises right point-blank into the mic, and if the red light shows on the receiver, I turn the internal mic level down some more. The system has great dynamic range, so you can make up gain at the receiver and downstream. If a loud, close singer is overloading your receiver, you can't do anything about it at the receiver and board end of the signal. The other thing is the battery contacts. Stick with one brand of 9v batteries. I know it sounds like BS, but if you line up 9v batteries from different manufacturers, there is a slight difference in height. If you follow using a taller one with a shorter one, it will rattle around in the mic and lose contact. I've had to pry the tabs back down a couple of times, and am worried that they will break off if I keep that up!

I bought two of these for use in a school PA system and although they are cheap, they are some of the worst sounding wireless mics I have used. I would call them barely acceptable for speech and unacceptable for vocals. RF reception and range are fine, but RF noise is a bit high.I have used wireless mics from Shure, Audio Technica, Vega, Telex and others - usually products in under $300 range, and the sound of this product does not compare favorably. Do not expect anything close to a wired mic sound. There was a noticable distortion that was accentuated if you tried to bring up the treble which you will want to do becuase the mic sound is very muddy. Also, of three mics I ordered, one was DOA and one had worse sound quality than than the other. I am sure Nady makes good wireless mics in a higher price range, so if you can't spare the extra money, I would recommend getting something used.

dj Revenge!

By DJ REVENGE!

Wow! Talk about bang for your buck! I was really surprised when i tried this mic out. I have used more expensive wireless handheld systems and was shocked with this mic's performance. I'm probably gonna buy more of these as they don't hurt your pocket and you're not too concerned when someone drops it. These mics have a great range and never cut out for me. While walking around and testing range I went about 150ft away with and had no cut outs. The only complaint would be with the handling noise, but it's not too bad. All you have to do is turn it down the line while the mic is being passed along. These mic's don't weigh very much but don't be fooled. It is a great mic that sounds good and has a good range.

Excellent budget Wireless

By Audiomatron

from Hattiesburg, MS

This mic is an excellent value for the price. It sounds good, and I haven't expeirenced any dropouts with it. The only thing I dislike about it is the handling noise. It picks up every little move your hand makes on it. However, there is a mute switch that you can turn on while you are not singing. Aside from the handling noise, I'm quite satisfied with my purchase. Now I can spin around like Dave Gahan and not wrap myself up in wires!!

I pastor a church and use this microphone often. It has good sound, but does drop out every once and a while. However if you are just starting and do not have a lot of money this is a great product.

Great deal

By The Gospel Kid

from Brookhaven, MS

Recently purchused a Nady UHF4/HT UHF hand held mic system for our church. One of the best buys we have made. Sound is clear with no drops. We tried it out by walking away from the church a good 250+ with no fades. We are going to purchase some more of these.

I purchaced 3 of these mics and they are great for the price. I would rather have Shure but for the price of one decent shure you can buy 4 or 5 of these. I had one mic on channel 3 to malfunction but NADY was great in getting it repaired without any trouble

Title says it all... upon arrival it barely worked and sounded terrible when it did. I was talked into the UHF-4... a mistake. No range, drop-outs within a couple of feet. Nothing made it work better and the longer I tried the worse it got. Sending back immediately. I have a 10-year old Samson VHF wireless mic that works terrific just for comparison.

By The Fryer

I purchased the Nady UHF-4/HT UHF Handheld Wireless System out of neccessity. This unit held up to high marks. As a matter of fact one of the agents at the event wants to buy one for his artist. It's light weight and reliable. What more could you ask for?

Great Price/Performance

By Dr. D.J.

The UHF-4 is the 3rd Nady wireless mike I've purchased, and I'm surprised by how well it performs for the price paid. They are reliable, easy to use, & sound great. I've had more problems with wireless mikes that have costed 2-4X more. I did a recent event with over 1000 guests, and the PA announcements were crystal clear and understandable by all. One minor irritation is a little bit of switch noise, but this can be avoided using the standby position.

Great mic for the money

By Pearlnoid

from Effingham, IL

I bought this mic a year ago for use with my last band. I've used it in all about 20 times, and have even used it on occasion when the availability of a Shure wireless was present. Overall the mic is great, have never had a dropout that I didn't cause. The sound quality is great, but you'll have to work the EQ a little (which I've found is true for most mics out there). I had problems at first with the input, but once I discovered that the gain for the mic itself was on the inside, I got it squared away quickly (the mic was way too hot for anyone not used to it, a problem since my band occasionally hosts open mics where it would be used). My only complaint is the on/off/standby switch. It's located in the worst possible place. Occasionally I would cause a drop-out by unintentionally pressing the switch in, causing it to lose contact. Just be aware of that fact, and you should have absolutely no problems with this mic. I highly recommend it!!

great for the price!

By Big Bill Love

from Evansville, Indiana

Recently bought one for my DJ business and tried it on the air at my radio job on a remote broadcast from a car dealer. VERY NICE! I got great range (about 500 feet from the base unit)and no interference. Now the boss wants to buy one. The best deal anywhere for the cost.

Great product for the price

By Church pastor

from New York City

Bought one for my personal use (pastor) and it sounds and perform excellent. Once your techie person configures for your voice it's a clear winner. And the price - need I say more? Never had a problem. No dropouts, feedback or hissing, etc. Simply a great wireless mic for the money. Our church seats 300, and distance to transmitter is about 70 ft. Looking to purchase 4 more for singers.

cheaper cordless works like expensive one

By Soundman Razeed

from Boston, Massachusetts

Was looking for a diversity type cordless mic to upgrade from a no-name single channel cordless mic. Im a sound tech thats usualy picky about background hiss and sound quality. At the same time I was on a bit of a low budget. I decided to get this mic since the other people like it. I am quite impressed at what I got for the money, there is no background hiss, the dynamic range of the sound is very full. In testing the reception I even set up the PA in my basement and took the mic up to the second floor, and still had flawless reception. the only minor things I would change about this mic are 1. it is easy to connect the mic's 9v battery backwards if not paying attention. 2 I would put the level and squelch on the front of the receiver not the back.Get this mic its worth way more than you pay!

Great value

By npk

from NY, NY

I bought this system for use in a church. So far, I have no complaints. It works very well, no problems with feedback or fuzzy signals (all this with no direct line of sight between mic and receiver). In summary, I would say that for the cost it is an excellent purchase and great value!

Not a good purchase

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Initially when I sound checked the mic for clarity and dropout it did great for the money. However, when the pastor who has a much heavier voice used it; not only was I embarassed at the dropouts but the sound was horrible. Also, my church is small and the mic was no less than 50ft away from the reciever when used. Needless to say I will be returning it. I'll pay for quality.

Great Mic Worth the Money

By George Fahr.

from Levelland, TX

We have used much higher price microphones for our congregation meetings, but this one sounds as good or sometimes better then the ones we were using before. We have an Electro-Voice one and I would buy another Nady any day. Plus we can buy 4 and have money left over.

Great Mic For The Price

By PROFESSIONAL AUDIO SYSTEMS, LLC

This is a great mic for the price. I now own two of them and they both work perfect for the jobs I do. I DJ all over and these mics have yet to let me down. I can go all the way to the back of a 100 ft hall and they still sound great. I even tested them by going out of the halls and into different rooms and they work very well there too. I'm going to get one for my Dad. Get one and you won't be let down.
