Sophisticated acoustic design gives the sE8 Omni an almost spherical polar pattern, allowing it to capture sound consistently as it arrives from different directions. Each capsule is hand-crafted and individually tuned at sE Electronics' factory, pairing an ultra-thin gold-sputtered diaphragm with a precision electrode for natural sonics, smooth frequency balance and detailed transient reproduction.

Attenuation and Low-Cut Filters Expand Recording Options

Two switchable attenuation settings provide 10dB or 20dB of reduction, extending the microphone's dynamic range and helping prevent overload when working close to high-output sources such as brass, timpani and drums. Selectable 80Hz and 160Hz low-cut filters provide additional control over low-frequency rumble, footfall noise and excessive bass energy. Combined with the microphone's low-noise Class-A electronics and transformerless design, these onboard controls allow the sE8 Omni to move between distant ensemble and room placements and more demanding close-miking applications without changing microphones.

Compact Metal Construction for Studio and Live Use

An all-metal chassis helps reject electrical interference and noise, while a gold-plated XLR connector provides a reliable connection to an audio interface, microphone preamp or mixer supplying 48V phantom power. Measuring 0.9" in diameter by 4.7" long and weighing 5.1 oz, the compact pencil design is easy to position around instruments and in multi-microphone setups. A mic clip with thread adapter and windscreen are included for mounting and recording.
