I always wanted to try wireless but felt it was extravagent. Well I tried a Shure PGX14 and found it to be very popular and the price was within reach. I didn?t want a cheap unit with poor sound quality and Shure seemed to be at the top. The PGX14 was a total disappointment in every way. The tone quality was atrocious. The sustain was about half of what I would get with a cable. The PGX14 was a cheap plastic disposable product , so I returned it to the store. A knowledgeable salesman suggested the Sennheiser EW 172 G2 unit and he told me that his friend bought this one and then bought 4 more for his band. His friend was very critical of the sound quality. I said that I would try it. Well, the construction of this unit is better than anthting that Shure makes. It is built like military hardware. There are metal cases on the tranmitter and the receiver. The ease of use was simple and very user friendly setup. Last but not least, the sound quality is truly amazing, great sustain, no change in all ranges of tone, for accoustic and electric guitars. These units are designed in Germany and built in the USA. You can?t beat German engineering. I got this unit for about the same price as the PGX 14. There is no comparison to the Shure PGX14. Don?t let yourself be blinded by brand names and try it. You will love this unit.Very good product and highly recommended. I am telling ya.

I had it for 1 month and it found it's way back to the store very quickly... it was a nightmare. The only appealing thing to this unit was the professional look other than that it was a complete waste of time and money. Want a good wireless? Go with a brand that has history in wireless systems. The Sennheiser is noisy and uncooperative.

Tested outside @ 100' - works great

I tested one of these as an option for running hard cable from a small outdoor stage to an inside house mixer at a small winery near me. I plugged a mic and Taylor ES guitar into a Behringer 802 mixer, output 1/4" to this unit. Receiver was 1/4" out to the 1/4" input on the house mixer, and the sound was excellent, no noise, no delay, no distortion. I would use and recommend it for this purpose.

ive been playing bass for about 9 years and Shure doesn't have anything on this box. i walked about 100 ft. away and had no audible delay or interference. sound quality is wonderful and the output control is fairly easy to use. you can bank your settings for different instruments and that is freakin awsome!!!!

Great wireless system!!

By Ire & Sentiment bassist

from Sayreville, NJ

This is a great wireless system. It cost more than the other ones but that's because it's all metal construction and multiple channels. I'm in an upcoming band (Ire & Sentiment).. but I've seen bigger bands that we played with use the same system. It was great when we played multiple shows, including Warped Tour.. it does have a little crumbling sound when you touch the wire to the antenna by moving it the wrong way or if the cable isn't tight all the way. But I never had problems with it at a show. Just be careful how you have it on your strap.. a little tape goes a long way.

A+

By Anonymous

I just recently picked up my eg2 and it's amazing. The entire thing is constructed of metal, to where if I drop it nothing happens! Out of the box the "Squelch" setting was a little high to where is was distorting, but after messing around with it a bit, it stoped. The only thing I would reccomend is a body pack holder for the transmitter, the clip on it doesnt hold up so well on the strap.

I've had this set up for about 6 months and i have tried to listen for loss of tone, power or static and i dont hear anything like that. This system has proved to be one of the best. I would look no further.

BassMan

Hey Bass Players. Constantly frustrated getting the wide frequency range of a Bass to go through a wireless. Check this one out. I have an Alembic feeding a Trace Elliot rig (beat that) and this thing sounds like a "wire". Only noticed a small hiss when totally off. When playing, all the tone and dynamics are there. I Swore off of wireless 10 years ago... I'm back on now baby!!!

Great wireless for guitar and bass!

By Danman-YGyIo

from Hanford, California

I am a gigging musician and have used my wireless with my bass AND my guitar. It gives my bass an incredible boost in bright tone and makes guitar brighter as well. It is built well and works grreat for guitar and bass, I have never seen my signal strength at anything less than four bars. The only problem I have had with it is it does seem to crack and pop sometimes if the cord is moved too much but if it is secured right, it is perfect.

tone?

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

This thing is awesome. Its constructed like a tank. The only things are that if the wire is not secured you will get some static, but I guess the same would be true for a normal guitar cable. Also It did change my guitar's tone a little. It sounds a litte less "fat" if you know what I mean.

A bass players dream come true!!

By Anonymous

What a unit!! It is a little expensive, and Ill admit I was sceptical myself. Let me tell ya, its worth it!! Especially if you are a bass player, and ESPECIALLY if your running a 5 string and dont want to loose any low end! This unit has absolutly NO sound quality degration heard by human ear even on the low B. The range is more than you will ever need. Ive played huge clubs wiuth this thing and I run around the stage like a nut. I couldnt be happier and I say get this thing!! Its also built like a tank, so its ready for the road!!!

AWESOME!

This wireless system rocks! If your on a tight budget and think that this is to expensive for you, just WAIT a little bit longer until you have the money to buy this. It will last FOREVER with its all metal caseing! I've dropped it SEVERAL times and there's hardly a scratch on it and it still works just fine. It has an AMAZING range! I had it plugged into my sound system in my shop with the doors closed. I walked outside from that shop and walked probably 200ft (with the doors closed) and it STILL picked up as clear as day. I would DEFINITELY recommend this system to anybody!

Easily The Best

By Bubba rocks

from Boise, Idaho

This wireless system is the best you could ever get. I've had it for about 2 years and played many gigs with it and it has never once cut out. I have also been running around stage and dropped it really hard before and it is still just perfect. I don't know if anything could ever go wrong with it. It also can go REALLY far. I've gone very very far away with it and it never cut out. This for sure is the wireless system you need.

I got this 2 months ago and this is awesome. I had a audiotechnica wireless system and it stunk. This not only goes farther than other systems, it also has a display screen for monitoring your output, frequency, and even your name. And beyond that, it was easy to set up. Just plug and play. I strongly recommend this to anyone.

I got this system for christmas and I love it. The sound is great before I got it I heard about sound loss but the only sound loss with this one is the stuff you dont like hum, feedback. The length it goes to is great I can walk around the house with this I can be at least a 100 feet away from the transmitter.

Best Wireless System Ever!!

By Guitarist of Southern Flight Band

from Dallas, TX

Strat & Tele users, the transmitter has a DB setting called "Sensit" you can adjust the DB between -20, -10, or 0 to get the tone you want. Humbucker users like a Les Paul, -30 DB is the lowest that you can go which is fine for good tone. You will never, I repeat never, buy another wireless system again. Range and tone are both superb for small Clubs or playing large arenas.

Fantastic

I've gotta say. Sennheiser hit the nail on its head with this one. I've never had it cut out or get any static. I've owned it for a year and a half too. It's got everything you need in a wireless. True diversity, adjustable trim, and even a balanced out. There's not much to a wireless, but this one has everything you need.9 on value becasuse its pretty expensive.

Perfect design

Perfect design - metal housing on the transmitter; small, easy to change the AA batteries, good power life, uses regular or rechargeable. Many features, easy to use, FLAWLESS reception, great transmit distance, digital transmission (no squelch fuzz). I've had 2 units in service for 4 years. Worth the price.

The Best Wireless

By Bangus Young

from Campbellsville, KY

What can I say... A lot of National acts (the big boys) use these wireless systems. It is quiet as a mouse, doesn't change your tone and doesn't cut out (like that Nady piece of crap). Oh, and did I mention that it's built like a tank! The pack has come off of my strap I can't count the number of times and hit the floor... Guess what... It's made of metal, it won't break. Listen to somebody that has been through the trauma of owning junky wireless systems... Don't waste your money on the other name brands... get this one! This is BEST!
