Purpose-built condenser designs for kick, snare and toms define the Sontronics DrumPack five-piece drum condenser microphone set. The set combines one DM-1B large-diaphragm condenser for kick, one DM-1S small-diaphragm condenser for snare and three DM-1T small-diaphragm condensers for toms. All five use cardioid pickup and require +48V phantom power, while four mic clips and a rugged ABS case complete a coordinated close-miking package for studio recording and live sound.

DM-Series Condensers Tailored to Kick, Snare and Toms

The DM-1B brings 20Hz–20kHz response and a switchable -15dB pad, handling up to 155dB SPL with the pad engaged for kick drum and other high-level low-frequency sources. The DM-1S and DM-1T each use 30Hz–20kHz response and switchable -10dB pads, handling up to 135dB SPL with the pads engaged. The snare mic is voiced for attack and detail, while the three tom mics are designed to capture the initial hit and resonance of rack and floor toms.

Cardioid Pickup for Focused Close Miking

Cardioid patterns keep the DM-series microphones focused on the drum in front of them while reducing pickup from neighboring kit pieces. The compact DM-1S and DM-1T bodies make close placement easier around cymbals and hardware, while the DM-1B uses an end-fire design that can face the kick head from outside the drum or just inside the soundhole. Each microphone connects over 3-pin XLR to compatible preamps, mixers and interfaces that provide +48V phantom power.
