Comments about WESTONE UM Pro 20 In-Ear Monitors:
I've used onstage professionally for many, many years. They have changed my whole perspective on live monitoring. I can hear everything perfectly! Sometimes they sound so good you almost think you are listening to a CD, but it's really you and your band. Westone are the leaders in all things in-ear, from military communication civilian hearing aids, to excellent monitors. And to top the awesome quality off, they are made in the USA! Enough said...

Comments about WESTONE UM Pro 20 In-Ear Monitors:
Just started using these for monitoring my drums... I was previously using shure 215 and future sonic atrios and the music separation with these are outstanding! The shure and atrios have great bass but lack the instrument separation and detail the westones provide! Well see how they hold up.

Comments about WESTONE UM Pro 20 In-Ear Monitors:
These in-ear monitors have great frequency response. I went with the 20s because of reviews suggesting the entry-level 10s had poor bass response. These sound great! so good that I bet the10s would have been plenty satisfactory. I went with Westone because they appeared to have the capacity to actually stay in your ear! They do! With previous in-ears I've tried all manner of modifications to get them to stick, including molding that putty-like ear plug material around the ear buds to fit my ear shape. These worked far better right out of the box. I haven't even tried all of the included silicone tips, so I may still get a better fit yet. But the feature that makes them work so much better in my opinion is the pre-'bent', and more rigid loop of cord to fit around and behind your ear. I use them for live music monitoring of my vocal, blended with the rest of the band, through a simple entry-level SHURE wireless monitoring system. These monitors are a big step-up with that system. I'm happy!

Comments about WESTONE UM Pro 20 In-Ear Monitors:
In order to get the best sound out of these, you just have to mess around with the earbuds they included. There are 10 sets you can try: 5 sets of silicone and 5 sets of foam. I found the pair of silicone and the pair of foam that fit me and gave me good bass and that was it. All the other size earbuds for me have essentially no bass whatsoever. I am a bassist so I gotta have that. The silicone buds have pretty good isolation, but the foam buds have VERY good isolation. Better than closed-back headphones. The sound quality is pretty great I think. I have no complaints. They are comfortable enough to wear for my gigs without any pain at contact points in my ears and they don't ever fall out or feel like they are going to fall out. The cord is reinforced at the earpieces, but I wish it were in the middle of the cable where the little connecting thing is you can move up and down, but I imagine it will last ok. Thankfully the cable is replaceable on these and has a standard connection.

Comments about WESTONE UM Pro 20 In-Ear Monitors:
I bought these to use in one of my current gigs, playing bass in a church praise team band. The Shures provided by the church to use with the Aviom system provided a muddy, dreamlike representation of the music and my bass just sounded like a thud. The UM Pro 20 gives a crisp, perfect sound. With my bass, I can hear every note loud and clear all the way down to the open low B string and I can easily distinguish the differences in sound between the pickups, something the Shures couldn't accomplish. I can hear the other musicians easily as well. The girl singers are singing softly into my ears making it easy to hear which harmony they are singing so I can pick out the one they are not singing. I can hear every mistake the electric guitar player makes, every tom and cymbal the drummer plays, and any other note played or sung by any musician on the platform. It's like listening to a CD through headphones, except the band is live. The carrying case is a sturdy plastic and they come with a variety of earpiece ends so you can find your perfect fit. It was hard to see the left and right markers, so I put a tiny dab of my wife's red fingernail polish on the right one. Problem solved. They stay firmly in place, so you don't have to worry about them falling out if you make an unusual turn. They seem a little overpriced at three hundred, but if you want perfect sound, these are the ones.

Comments about WESTONE UM Pro 20 In-Ear Monitors:
I use this product mainly when playing my bass live on stage.I have used them with a portable music player and the sound is great. Clear. When used with the foam inserts, I get a perfect seal and blocks out stage noise. The next best thing as compared to custom fit. The lows are really good as well as mids and hi's. Our drummers also use and love these things. For bass players, it's a must have!
