Overview

A 500-series preamp for warm, precise studio recordings.

The Wolff Audio Tutti 500 Series microphone and instrument preamp brings classic Sunset Sound heritage into the modern studio. Created in collaboration with Wolff Audio and Sunset Sound Recorders, this preamp honors Tutti Camarata—the audio innovator behind the legendary Studio 1 console. Designers Paul Wolff and Paul Camarata worked directly with Cinemag's David Geren to recreate the custom nickel I/O transformers, ensuring the same iconic warmth and clarity heard on thousands of classic tracks. Featuring discrete dual 990 op-amps, an output fader from infinity to 65dB, and over 60dB of clean gain, the Tutti delivers flat response from 10Hz–60kHz. Phantom power selection switches silently, avoiding pops even during live patching, while the front panel accepts both mic and instrument sources with minimal phase shift and distortion below 0.03% at sub-100Hz frequencies.

Wolff Audio Heritage Delivers Studio-Grade Warmth

Studio engineers looking to capture a track's subtle details will appreciate this preamp's low-noise circuitry and Cinemag transformer design. Musicians recording direct can expect transparent gain and minimal coloration, making it easy to blend sounds across a session. With more than 60dB of gain and smooth fader control, the unit adapts to different sources, from dynamic microphones to sensitive instruments. Thoughtful engineering—like silent phantom switching—removes distractions, letting artists focus on performance. Every feature here supports reliable, musical recording that stands up to repeated use in a working studio environment.
