Its iconic Red Label represented the heart of the instrument - a beautiful, soulful tone that has come to define Yamaha's acoustic guitars. Yamaha recognized the FG180's milestone anniversary with the FG180-50th, with a run of just 180 guitars. It has a pairing of Solid Sitka spruce top with scalloped X bracing on a solid mahogany body with rosewood, cream and black binding. Other appointments include a black/white/cream ABS soundhole rosette, urea nut and saddle, open gear chrome tuners, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and a black pickguard. Yamaha FG700S & FG710S (Discontinued)

Yamaha's FG700S and FG710S folk acoustic guitars were reasonably priced entry-level acoustic guitars featuring one of the most popular tonewoods - solid Sitka spruce - for the top. This gives you a nice mellow tone with a slower response, and keeps the guitar nice and lightweight, a combination that is ideal for a beginner trying to find their way around the instrument. The nato back and sides also keeps the guitar lightweight and inexpensive while not sacrifcing tone. Other features of the FG700S and FG710S include a rosewood fingerboard and bridge, black and white body binding, die-cast tuners, and a tortoise pickguard.
