Comments about Aquarian Modern Vintage II Bass Drumhead with Super-Kick:
I bought this bass drum head for my 74 sonor phonic 22x14 beechwood on impulse and didn't get around to actually putting it on for awhile. I wanted to try it but was quite sure it was going to be a bit dark for my tastes. I couldn't have been more wrong! I have tried every head out there, with my vintage drums being so finicky about tuning and heads and this sounded AMAZING! It had a beautiful punch, plenty of low end and with the aquarian thin patch (not included) it added the extra attack I needed from my sonor beater. Up till now I have been a huge fan of the skI, the Evans eq4 clear and the remo PS3 clear and this one outdoes them all for my setup! If you want that great artic monkeys, punchy vintage kick, this is your ticket! I was told it lacked a bit of volume but actually I didn't notice this at all. My super kick I lacked volume in fact, although it sounded great. This had the same volume as a skII and the eq4. The PS3 had the most volume of the heads I tried. I would rate this at about a 6.5 on the straight up volume level. I only use my drums for recording so it didn't matter much but I still like to feel the kick when I'm playing and it felt awesome! Also it looks cool, with the vintage cream coloring! Don't forget an aquarian beater patch if you pick one up. I would also imagine this lasting just about as long or longer than any other head I've used on my kick. It's built super well! Absolutely buy one and try it. I don't see this coming off of my bass for a long time. My new found favorite!!!

Comments about Aquarian Modern Vintage II Bass Drumhead with Super-Kick:
I got one of these for an all birch 22 x 18 bass drum, and I am very pleased. With a kevlar patch and a hard beater, this head delivers a big low end rounded sound with great attack and short sustain. It feels less synthetic than other heads and requires no muffling. The coating is a bit yellowy, but I didn't mind at all once I heard this head. I plan on getting these for my snares also. Favorite new bass drum head.

Comments about Aquarian Modern Vintage II Bass Drumhead with Super-Kick:
I just took delivery of my new bass head for the kick drum on my '90s-era Pearl Export new-used drum kit I got for my 43rd birthday.
And let me tell y'all, it's just plain AWESOME!! I have more punch with the new head than I ever did with the original factory-installed head. I chose to swap out my original head with this one for two good reasons: I first found a very nasty blemish on the old head, and I also wanted to match my bass head's general appearance up with the new MV-II heads on my toms. And so, I now have great looking heads on my toms and bass, but also sweet sounding tones on all drums within my own kit - including my snares!

Comments about Aquarian Modern Vintage II Bass Drumhead with Super-Kick:
I have used Superkicks for years on several different kits and nothing beats them. I got a new Gretch kit with an 18 inch kick. Wasn't too sure about getting the thump I'm used to, but I put these on the front and back together and OMG. I can't find words for what that little drum will do!

the tones from these coated heads are night and day over the other textures, as the sound is full and carries the tuning
