Ever go to a church or a gig and a P.A. head go out or one of your Low-Z inputs quits and you have a High-Z next to it and one of these adapters.? Its OK if you have a replacement head, unless, yours was for Low Impediance mic cords and the spare is 1/4" inputs (High Impediance). These inline transformers(adapters) can save the day. They fit great and in emergencies, they can help save the show. I've been there and done that!!, and its not fun!! This is a quick fix item that works. Its worth its weight in gold if you have even a Low-Z go out on your head, many have a High-Z input right beside them. This adapter might be the difference in a good show and a bad show. Cheap security for a musician or sound man who wants to be ready for anything.

Wrong Item - My Fault

I may never use it as it was not what i perceived it to be. It costs too little to bother to return it. Musicians Friend is not at fault.

Solid

Comments about Audio-Technica CP8201 In-Line Transformer:

This mic impendance matching transformer is useful. The quality is good and I have encountered no added buzzing or clicking. I have had this unit for a while [nearly a year] and I have only one issue with it. The male end of the transformer is bent sideways slightly, but it still plugs into amps and recorders, etc. Solid.

Great Deal

Comments about Audio-Technica CP8201 In-Line Transformer:

I can now sing over my guitar amp or thru my guitar effects. I use a digital delay pedal and an EQ pedal to get just the right sound I want from vocals. This is a great little gadget.

        Comments about Audio-Technica CP8201 In-Line Transformer:

OK, I'm a weekend warrior. I use small amps as monitors, and bass amps as subs. I've just begun doing PA, and these things are invaluable for allowing my bass-centric gear to serve double duty as PA equipment. Well-built, holding up after years of use, so that's why I recently bought two more. Also best price on the net for anything equivalent.

        Comments about Audio-Technica CP8201 In-Line Transformer:

I needed to use my battery operated Pignose to amplify my mic and guitar. A video on You Tube told me how to connect both and it worked--but not always with results 'as expected.' But the bottom line is that it did work and solved an immediate problem.

I use a Shure SM58 low impedance mike on two different gigs. One sound system allows for the use of a low impedance microphone, the other sound system requires me to use a in-line low to high impedance transformer. I always carry one or two in my gig bag.

A must-have for anyone that must take a quality Lo-Z mic to a regular 1/4" Hi-Z input on a mixer or other pre-amp. If you carry your own gear to allow your small amp to be mic'd at venues, one of these should be in the back "just in case" without question. Being able to turn down the gain at the mixer end (getting 40-45% of the signal headroom back on the knob) ends up being a quieter/clearer signal as well. Too inexpensive not to have one.

Converts a low ohm mic (in my case 300 ohms) for use where a high ohm mic is expected (in my case a Casio keyboard) works perfect. Also converts XLR to guitar style 1/4" input for less than the cost of a conversion cable.

This is a great heavy duty plug at a great price. I've paid almost triple this for a lower quality plug before that just failed on me, glad I found this one. Feels solid when plugged in, I use it from the output of an API mic pre into my ECHO soundcard and it works great!

                                Comments about Audio-Technica CP8201 In-Line Transformer:
