Comments about D'Addario EXL160 Gauge Nickel Wound Electric Bass Strings:

I've been using these strings for about 10 years, and they sound great at first. After about a month they really aren't that good anymore. Don't get me wrong, they last forever and a day, but after a good couple of weeks of practice, jams, or shows the sound quality goes down the toilet. I keep around 3-4 sets on me at all times, and change strings after each gig. If you can afford that they are great strings. If not, buy some DR's.

Comments about D'Addario EXL160 Gauge Nickel Wound Electric Bass Strings:

i recently bought a vintage 1977 gibson thunderbird IV and these were the strings that happened to be on it. for one i have never liked d'addario strings that much anyway. the sound is ok, not the best though. and it makes a buzzing near the bridge (especcially on the a string) and i really hate that. i dont think they would be worth the money money, ok if you get them free (like i did i never would have bought these) they slap against the neck alot & sometimes the pickups. but they are durable and do not break easily. so my advice would be ok if you get them for free, not good to buy
