I play finger style on a very lightly constructed responsive guitar. Almost classical guitar tonal quality, especially on the base end. I like these strings for their even tonal quality--the "symphony" feels like their playing together. I also like the even full "thump" I get from the lower bass strings. Downside is volume is poor compared to 80/20 bronze wound. Also, live-ness is somewhat muted. Upside to that is I need to be less perfect to avoid crunch from left had. Smooth transitions comes easier. But picking hand wrestles a bit to pull out more sound. The jury is still out..l.

Comments about D'Addario NB1253 Nickel Bronze Light Acoustic Strings:

Used another brand for a number of years, began experiencing consistent manufacturing defects, breakage and ball end popping off. Had to say goodbye to that company's string, the NB are simply fantastic.

Comments about D'Addario NB1253 Nickel Bronze Light Acoustic Strings:

I put these on my Taylor 712ce 12 fret. I much prefer the Phosphor Bronze EXP16s I usually use. The tone from the Nickel Bronze strings is very well balanced but too laid back for me. I like more shimmer and in the treble and more oomph in the bass which I get from the EXP16s and/or EJ16s which are 1/2 the price.

These strings are such a perfect match to my Taylor T-5's that I sometimes wonder if they were made for them. I'm hard on strings and these take a beatin' and keep on tickin'!!

These strings really bring out the best tone of my 1988 Santa Cruz guitar (Tony Rice model) better than any strings I have used over the past 29 years. I am hooked!

Comments about D'Addario NB1253 Nickel Bronze Light Acoustic Strings:

These are great strings. I use them on my both of my acoustic guitars. The strings give my guitars a true uncolored sound, very woody. I am a loyal D'Addario string customer, these strings last pretty long as compared to other brands.

I've been playing guitar for 45 yrs & used every string made (it seems like) but I swear I can't figure out what these strings are good for besides bailing wire. I'd never put em on an acoustic. I figure the nickel/bronze was SUPPOSED to facilitate magnetic pic-ups in acoustics. If so the trade off cancels everything else out. They sound dead right outta the gate. The 10s I used felt more like .11s or even .12s. I hate changing strings TWICE IN ONE DAY.
