Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

I bought this from MF in January 2012. By August one of the plastic locks had broken and the strap was useless.

The strap lock at the base of my Fender Strat somehow got caught on something and cracked open. The plastic holding the screws was irreparably broken and the strap wouldn't stay on. Now the strap is useless.

This seems like a very poor design if it's this fragile.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

Quality is good, fit is good, the locking parts are great. They are just too, way too short. These are a good 4" shorter than any other guitar strap I've ever owned, makes me feel like I'm playing a kid banjo while wading floodwaters.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

I've has these on my Les Paul Classic and Gretch 5120 for about 6 months. Both are now scratched from the plastic ends that lock to the guitar. Also, the nuts from both guitars have come flying off at gigs due to the awkward way these things sit on the guitar. It took me 6 months to figure out I made a big mistake!

        Unsuitable for an Ibanez RG2550Z

        By esa

        from Undisclosed

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

Tried it on an Ibanez RG2550Z (last year's model). You can barely put it on; the button head on the guitar is about 17-18mm, but the widest part of the strap holder is 17mm (the narrow is 10mm). Trying in an angle I finally managed to get it on, but there's not enough freedom of movement and I couldn't quite get it to sit right.

I removed right away, and noticed it left some rubber on the guitar. Maybe it's because I had to struggle to put it on, but it doesn't look like the right choice of material.

        Summary:

        * The locking mechanism looks nice (assuming it's durable, which I didn't test).
        * It didn't fit my guitar because of the 17mm opening and because the holders are bulky thickness-wise.
        * The rubber on the internal side isn't durable.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

I bought the strap in a pinch before a show, i normally use another brand of strap locks, but i needed something fast and cheap before a show, so i bought this. Firstly it doesnt fit on some standard strap buttons, so you may not even be able to use it. Secondly, it is WEAK. I used it for a show last week, the strap broke off of my strap button 3 TIMES within 35 minutes. The plastic swing arm inside the lock, is almost useless, you can break it with 10 lbs of pressure. Do not buy this unless youre standing perfectly still or sitting down.

These dangs things just don't last. They break and leave you without strap at the most awkward times. The plastic just can't hang.

The design is functional, if only they were made with quality in mind.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

MF advertises as "fits most guitars". Wrong!

Did not fit any of my acoustic guitars, did not fit some of my electrics.

The throat of the locking mechanism is small. Will not fit wide strap pins (acoustics with end pin jacks).

The strap assembly that holds the locking mechanism is rigid. Thus, if the strap pin on your guitar doesn't have a wide expanse of flush area surrounding it, this strap will not work. Do you have a bigsby on your guitar, then the hinge on the bigsby, which sits right next to the strap pin on the guitar, will get in the way of the locking mechanism....won't work. Neither will it work on acoustics with pins on the neck heel. Based on my trial with 13 guitars, worked on zero of 6 acoustics, 0 of 2 hollow bodies, 0 of 1 semi hollow. Only works on my solid body electrics. For those, slick as snot. 'cept those all already have strap lock systems on 'em....so....anybody wanna buy a very slightly used Planet Waves locking strap?

Because my guitar is acoustic electric the strap hanger with the jack in it is bigger and the hard plastic connector wouldn't fit over it.

The hard plastic ends do not fit my Kona and EJ-200SCE cutaway accoustic/electric guitars.
The hard ends would damage the guitar body in the case and while playing.

I keep several guitars out and ready to play in my music room. These straps are great. The locks work well and I never worry about one slipping off the guitar. Just set it and forget it. A good price and delivered to my home in just a few days. I rated them high because they are just what I was hoping they would be. Wish I would have invented them.

This is the best straplock design ever. You can remove the strap and put it on in a second or two, and you don't have to keep the strap attached to the guitar while in the case like other straplocks. I play a very heavy Les Paul copy and no longer have to curl my body over while playing so as to catch my guitar if it falls!

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

The reason im giving it an 8 is because its mainly meant for side on side (strat style) button placements or it'll be twisted up a little bit. Nothing too big, but a little annoying for me. This is actually my 2nd one, the first one i got was the 20 dollar one with a design for my bc rich (both buttons on the back). So what i did to fix it was cut the strap, flip the lock around, and sewed it back together. Perfect. But i bought a regular black one for my future guitar i plan on getting.H
Great guitar strap, perfect for the crazy guitarist.
Really good, strong material. Locks are strong and built to last.
                    Totally worth the price.

Great guitar strap for the money. The lock-on feature feels very secure. I use this with a Yamaha TRB1006 6-string bass, which is very heavy.
The lock-on feature works great! I was worried at first that it might scratch the guitar, but it turns out the locking part is made of strong plastic with a rubberized coating. Very good design.
So far it works great. No complaints.
Oh and it was pretty cheap!

Decent quality, particularly for the price. It has built in locksa and it holds my guitar up

I love the fact you can lock your instrument and I don't have to worry if it will "slip out" mid-set -- yes, that have happened before, with a non-locking strap that worn out with repeated use. The incident almost gave me a slight heart attack -- therefore I only buy locking straps whenever I can. I wanted a simple looking but functional strap for my practice guitar (my other guitars have a "fancier looking" locking strap to match the instrument). Don't let the affordable price fool you, this strap is VERY nice, the picture does not make it justice. I normally leave my straps attached to the instrument when I put them back in the case. I have had no problem with this strap at all. I might even get this type for future guitars. It looks, fits and adjusts very nicely.

If you've ever just about lost your precious guitar when the strap comes loose you know the value of this strap' The only problem it's not available on quality more expensive straps. I have no idea why. The narrow nylon strap starts to dig in to your shoulder after about a half an hour of playing.

I had hardware strap locks on other guitars, but I needed to install them onto each guitar. The strap IS THE STRAPLOCK! This works great and I use it everyday. While I was waiting for this to arrive, I almost dropped my guitar when it slipped off my strap! Never again!
