Comments about DR Strings Pure Blues Medium 4-String Bass Strings (45-105):

I've never been so in to a type and brand of string before.
I've used DR hi beams and fat beams for well over 10 years and I've always considered them to be the best.
Even response and touch and a long life are descriptions I would normally think of with DR strings.
These have those but with a new twist. They use a different kind of wrap that gives the string the touch and the flexibility of Nickel But also incorporates the sound of stainless steel. So you can play with your fingers and get a round punchy tone or hit it hard with fingers or a pick and get that tough , hard, aggressive sound.
          Great string!!!!

Almost feel like your playing tapewounds, but with more definition. Very responsive and fun to play, although a bit on the light side.

Comments about DR Strings Pure Blues Medium 4-String Bass Strings (45-105):

Bought a set of these strings because I had heard people talking about them and then saw a couple endorsements by some of my favorite players. I must say I am underwhelmed. Handmade - convince me. The tolerances that have to be met, and consistently make me doubt that. For the extra you pay for these, stick with your Go To strings. I am a Daddario strings guy - I have heard people say, "Cheap", "no tone", many other things. However, in a mass produced string, you can almost certainly expect consistency and I have always gotten that. I noticed no difference in tone with the DR Pure Blues, and the higher strings are a little "spanky" to me. I'll let these get old and then it's right back to my Go to string.
