Been playing for over 40 years and I've owned or used every capo ever made. This is the absolute best one with the Shubb (which is what I've used for years) coming in second.. The problem with capos is that they either allow the string buzz due to not enough pressure or cause them to go sharp by exerting too much. Not any more. Just turn the screw and you apply exactly what you need. Some may complain you can't just snap it on but for a few extra seconds it's worth it especially for studio work. I tried it on my main go to solid body 14" radius and acoustic 12" radius and it worked perfectly on both. I'll try it on the dozen other guitars as I use them. I am more than pleased I decided to try it.

Brass Victor Capo

Comments about Dunlop Victor Capo:

Again, this is the absolute best capo that I have found on the market these days. You will not regret getting one of these capos. You will be a "happy camper" like I am with it.....................
The absolute best capo that is real small and you can adjust the tension to whatever setting that you like.................
Super heavy duty and great quality...............
YouTube might say that you have to use 2 hands to adjust this capo but I only use 1 hand to adjust it. Something is really wrong with the dude on YouTube if he has to use both hands to move it from fret to fret.........

    Comments about Dunlop Victor Capo:

I think Victor is the best capo ever. It allows you to adjust the tension on the fingerboard so you can damp the strings but not pull them out of tune. I've worn out two previous Victor Capos. I've been using them professionally for many years.

      Fantastic

      Comments about Dunlop Victor Capo:

I have used one of the curved models for almost 5 years now. After so much use, I had to superglue the rubber backing back on, but no other issues. This is one of the few capos I've ever used that never caused a guitar to buzz. Overall, it's great, and I'll never use another.

      Comments about Dunlop Victor Capo:

Worth every penny! I now own 2.
I am rating this as an 9 because this is not a capo that can be used for quick change. However, it is easy to apply and once on the guitar works great!
Rugged construction - made of brass. Its a work horse!
If you are looking for a lower priced capo that does not buzz and works great everytime - this one will do perfectly. I have owned a G7 and while the G7 adapts to the guitar a little faster it did not provide the clean sound like this capo. The strings ring full and harmonics sound great.

      Best capo available...

      By SDS145

      from State College, PA

      Comments about Dunlop Victor Capo:

A capo is an integral part of my playing and I've used nearly every type out there over many years. The Victor is by far the best, in terms of both clarity of sound and ease of adjustment. The pre-Dunlop originals have a smoother mechanism, but the new ones work well enough. The Victor gives the clearest tone of any capo on my Taylors, including the new overpriced G7th capo (although it does require two hands to set up). HOWEVER, the Victor comes in both curved and flat models. For most acoustic guitars you need the FLAT one. The arc of the curved model is too high and will sound really bad unless you crank it down way too hard. (I suspect that this is what happened to the reviewer below...) So, I recommend trying the Victor, but make sure you get the FLAT model for acoustic guitar.

      Comments about Dunlop Victor Capo:

The basic design is great, but the quality control at the factory is very poor. The screw action is very rough and uneven. That being said, if you are willing to work with it enough, it will smooth up and work very well. If you have the patience to work with it and get the action smooth, you will find it to be one of the best capos on the market.

Just ordered one capo to try it out based on reviews, good price, works great on both my six strings. Easy to move up and down the neck, looks nice. When adjusting the cape for tension on the strings I get no buzzing and it stays in tune, doesn't matter how far up or down the neck I capo. I will be ordering another today.

I have used many types of capos. This one works very well. It is built like a tank. I wish they made a partial capo. I would definitely buy it. There is no question about quality performance. - It provides excellent sound.

Dunlop Victor (and Johnny Cash)--my favorite

                By roman orest

                from Minnesota

                Comments about Dunlop Victor Capo:

                The best!!!
Most guitar necks usually get wider/fatter as you move up the neck towards the body. Even if you have a neck that doesn't, what I love about the Victor (and Dunlop Johnny Cash as well), is that you can easily dial in the amount of tension on the capo each time you move it--the tension is adjustable each time you reset it. Dailing is easy and fast. Most of the time, you can dial the strings into tune just by the amount of wheel turning tension you put on the strings. This capo is the best!!! Especially good as I use open tunings, and change the keys by moving up and down the neck with a capo.

The Dunlop Johnny Cash (besides being in black) has two options: for a slightly curved fretboard or for a flat fretboard.
Have used this for years without any problem--lots of performances. Like all capos, eventually, the rubber starts to have established grooves in it, so I might have to replace this eventually.
                Don't hesitate--price is great anyway!

Thin, doesn't get in the way. Doesn't bend the strings. Have two...will buy more. Over time the screws comes loose...don't work as smoothly as when new.

                Comments about Dunlop Victor Capo:

I have the original version from the designer before Dunlop bought him out. I assume that the Dunlop version is of the same quality. This capo is easy to use, easy on the frets, you adjust just enough tension so that strings don't buzz, less problem with retuning. It's a keeper.

                Comments about Dunlop Victor Capo:

I got a VICTOR capo several years ago after I used one that was on a friend?s acoustic guitar. It held the strings solidly up and down the neck, was simple to put on or take off, and didn't get in the way of your fret board hand when playing.I've had mine now for over 12 years and it still works like new. A very simple, yet effective design. Now that they are available on Musicians Friend, you have added another quality product to your line up. You can't go wrong with this excellent capo! I've tossed all my other useless capos into the trash. This is a real capo that does exactly what it was designed to do.My VICTOR capo is an original from the designer and maker, at Victor Products. Congratulations to Dunlop for picking up this product. I knew this design was a winner!

                    Comments about Dunlop Victor Capo:

This is a very solid, heavy-for-its-size little capo. I like the simplicity of just sliding the capo where I want it and being able to feel the tension I am creating as I turn the knob with no clamp mechanism or spring action. It is not for me because I prefer using an aluminum capo for lightness. Also, I found another brand's adjustment screw worked more smoothly--allowing me to better create the sweet spot of just enough tension to sound good but not mess with the intonation.
