OVERVIEW

Combat finger grunge!

Prolong your tone with the same acoustic guitar strings that experienced players worldwide trust to keep their incredible tone longer than any other string available.

Unlike other string brands, Elixir Strings coats the whole string. This protects not only the outer string surface but also the gaps between the windings where common tone-deadening gunk typically builds up in other brands’ coated and uncoated guitar strings. Anti-Rust Plating on plain steel strings ensures longer tone life for the entire set.

Who wouldn’t love more quality playing time between the hassle and cost of string changes?

Premium by design, these acoustic strings constructed with 80/20 (80% copper, 20% zinc) bronze wrap wire boast a crisp, bright tone with an expressive, vibrant presence. Compared to Elixir's original POLYWEB Coating, the ultra-thin NANOWEB Coating allows a more traditionally textured, “uncoated” feel.

For a slicker, gentler feel, try the original POLYWEB Coating on their 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Strings, which also feature a more robust and rounded tone. For more of a balance between bold and bright, Elixir's Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating deliver full-bodied tone and sparkling high-end clarity alongside the same traditional feel as these 80/20 bronze strings.

Of course, the kind of string you play is all a matter of personal preference. Not sure what tone or feel is right for you? Try them out for yourself, and find your new favorite string from Elixir Strings. For a more in-depth look at what makes our strings so special, scroll to the branded info further down the page.

Elixer Nanos are the best strings out there for me. We all know there's a ton to choose from but with the smooth feel and extended life you just can't go wrong. Pricey to some they are but you really get that back in more ways than one. I prefer the Custom Lights because they feel right. Bending the E - G strings is effortless while the D - E hold a good bottom end. Even with other brands in the past I've preferred Custom Lights because they offer the best playability. If you've never tried Elixir Strings you owe yourself the treat to experience the best. I believe you will stay with them like I have.
Nice smooth, silky feel to the fingers and longer play time
Second to none
A little pricey. With '3X Longer Life" I guess they can charge '3X Normal Price'. Around $10/set would increase sales, I'm sure.

So I got these by my guitar teachers suggestion. I saw them and I was kinda like meh... Elixir? Sounds kinda weird. The following day I came back and Picked up my guitar, went home and started playing them. My first thought was "Whoa there slidy (if that's a word)" They have a thin layer which was like slidy and stuff! I played them for about a minute and I couldn't put my guitar (a washburn, awesome) down. I LOVED THEESE STRINGS! I don't think i'll ever get another brand. I've had them for like 4 months and there still not flat and good. I highly reccoment them!

Less chirp, easy playing, great sounding

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Custom Light (.011-.052):

I've always used Martin SP 12s because they're the lightest gauge acoustic strings on the shelf at the closest music store. I bought these Elixir 11s (w/free shipping) 2 weeks ago looking for less fret chirp and WOW!, way less chirp than non-coated strings, much easier to play than 12s and little if any loss of volume.

40 years of playing and I never knew what I was missing, I won't go back to SP 12s.
Longevity remains to be seen.

Great Strings, but I prefer the Phosphor Bronze

By Todd Murray

from Savannah

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Custom Light (.011-.052):

I honestly don't think I can play any other brand of strings now. The Nanowebs are amazing and sound amazing. I think they trump the Polywebs by Elixir. I do have to say that I prefer the Phosphor Bronze Nano's to the these though. These started to do the "dandruff" thing pretty soon. Not that it affects the sound at all, but the Phosphors didn't start doing that until I played 3 gigs with them. They also just felt easier to play for whatever reason. I think it's worth the extra dollar or two. Either way you can't really go wrong with these strings. They're awesome.

ONLY STRINGS FOR ME!

By Ace Murray

from Oregon

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Custom Light (.011-.052):

I have used Elixir strings on every acoustic I have owned for several years now and I just can't imagine using anything else. They stay fresh much longer than strings I have used in the past. I have tried during rough financial times to use something a bit cheaper, but always end up right back with the Elixirs.

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Custom Light (.011-.052):

I've been a pro player for many years and got used to changing my strings once a week, and the difference was notable with a new set. Not with these strings. I now go 2-3 months without changing strings and don't miss it at all. :o) This coating works, the strings sound great, and they last and last.

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Custom Light (.011-.052):

A comment here said the these strings break easily, mainly the G string. True if you are a hard picker. But that isnt the string fault. Select the string for your style of playing. I use this set and also the regular light set depending on what I am playing. For soft strumming and fills that do not run over other the other music, these strings are great. To me they are a hybrid between the light and extra light gauges. Sure the B G and E are lighter, and more prone to breaking but I have broken strings in this set only twice. And both times it was due to tuning from standard to drop tunings and back several times back to back. Also, install strings PROPERLY. If you dont know how (and a lot of pickers still dont know), go to Taylor guitars web site for info on that. Just a tad lighter that standard light gauge strings and if you barre chord high on the neck a lot, these strings make it easier on the fingers because of less string tension. Its a long life string. I can play every day and still get up to 6 months on a set of these strings with still having great sound. I have one Taylor that has this string on it for a year. Its not played a lot but the coating helps prevent corrosion and degradation of the string. The coating will start to fray when you play a lot but they will still be playable. That is when it is my queue to change strings.

I've had these on my guitar for about a week now and minus the fact that the tone is so bright yet that I have to wear sunglasses, they sound really nice. They seem to be a very strong string; however, there is a little resistance when doing bends, hammer-ons, etc.

overall these strings sound and play wonderfully, and last forever. the price is a tad high, but its still well worth the exrta money.
high quality strings. they sound great for months, and i have never had a single string break on me.
they are reletively expensive but they outlast and outplay cheaper strings tenfold.

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Custom Light (.011-.052):

This strings are to say the worst strings in the world. yes the coating is a nice feature. Yes it stop figure swelling but the Quality of the string stink. They sound nice just for a couple of days then the coating of the strings start to pill of the string. I was on stage and one of strings busted on stage.that really did stink. what to say what string to recommend I say Martin MSP4050 SP Phosphor Bronze Custom Light Guitar Strings. yes they don't have the cool feature of the coating but they sound better last longer and can handle hard players like me.

      Makes My Gibson Dove Sing!

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Custom Light (.011-.052):

I have a 1968 Gibson Dove that belonged to my father. Over the years I have heard and played this classic guitar with many different brands of strings. To me, it sounded like an expensive rhythm guitar that 'thunked' when you played it. This last April I put on a set of Elixir Nanoweb Custom Lights and WOW WAS THERE A DIFFERENCE! The guitar is now bright and articulate. It sparkles like a Taylor and croons like a Martin. This guitar has never sounded this good in 40 years! The strings lasted into August when the high "E" started to change pitch up the neck. I got almost 4 months of playing. I replaced them with Elixir Polywebs and was not impressed. I am replacing these with Nanowebs. I wish the product description explained the tonal differences between the Polyweb and Nanowebs. As to the "G" string controversy: a friend of mine plays a Taylor, is a vigorous strummer (firm, up and down), uses hard picks and breaks "G" strings. I used the Nanowebs on a Gibson, Martin and Ibanez, use various pick gauges and strumming styles, and have not broken a string - and I play a lot of Pete Townsend. These strings are expensive but darn well worth it.

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Custom Light (.011-.052):

I have been using these strings since I bought my first Taylor in 1995 and have found nothing I like better. They cost more but they last about 3 times longer than most other strings. If you are having problems with them breaking it's probably a poor set up on your guitar or you should switch to a heavier gauge. If they don't sound good it's most likely your guitar that sounds bad, not the strings.

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Custom Light (.011-.052):

I have bought these on different occasions because I honestly do like the sound of the elixir strings better on my acoustic. But, no matter which guitar I buy them for, the G string always breaks and quickly. I can put new elixir strings on and break the G string in about 2 hours. Any other brand of acoustic strings I can have on my guitars until the tone is completely gone. I never break strings but this has happened to me on every occasion that I have purchased these.

They are long lasting, don't loose their tone, strong and if you consider how many of the other uncoated strings that you would put on vs. one set of Elixir they are inexpensive.
