OVERVIEW

Tight definition, lots of volume, and rich harmonic balance.

The Eminence Legend V128 12" 120 Watt Vintage British Tone Speaker has a British-manufactured cone that lends tonal characteristics to set rock guitarist's hearts afire. A Kapton bobbin for the voice coil allows this classic to handle up to 120W. Very mellow, but with lots of definition and rich tonal harmonic balance. Medium break-up modes. Very smooth.

Emminence recommends the Legned V128 as a direct replacement speaker for the Epiphone Triggerman and the Epiphone SoCal 412SL cabinets.

Excellent Speaker!

Comments about Eminence Legend V128 12" 120 Watt Vintage British Tone Speaker:

This is the smoothest yet aggressive all in one speaker I have ever owned or played through. I like it better than the G12T-75's I had which were in a Marshall 4X12 1960A cab and I also like it just a hair better than my Celestions; Vintage 30 and G12H (The amp is a factor here though also). From my experience, the Celestions are brighter but not as smooth. Somehow the Eminence V12's can get growly and ferocious without sounding harsh or gritty. If you are looking for a lot of in your face mid range you may want to go with something else as these are nice and smooth but they are still excellent for very aggressive styles of music from blues to shredding Metal (which are both my main styles).

Comments about Eminence Legend V128 12" 120 Watt Vintage British Tone Speaker:

Celestion type clone. Needs 40-50 hours of loud use to loosen up cone, it then gets warmer and fatter. Good hard rock speaker.

Comments about Eminence Legend V128 12" 120 Watt Vintage British Tone Speaker:

I replaced my EVM in my Music Man RD 112 and I am shocked at how this speaker improved the overall sound qualities. This speaker is IT for rock and blues!

Comments about Eminence Legend V128 12" 120 Watt Vintage British Tone Speaker:

My last review was accurate- but really I should have given the speaker a little more time to break in. I actually bought a cannabis rex to replace this in a 25 watt tweed handwired amp, but then a funny thing happened-it began to sound better and better every time I played a gig. The highs mellowed out, and now it just sounds HUGE. I am going to leave it in because it just sounds great now. So if you buy this excellent speaker,be patient and let it break in awhile.Your patience will be rewarded.

    Good Speaker,wrong application....

Comments about Eminence Legend V128 12" 120 Watt Vintage British Tone Speaker:

This is a very good speaker if you LOVE the sound of your amplifier and want MORE of it. Well rounded with solid low end, punchy mid-range and sparkling high end.I have a 25 watt tweed pro clone (5e5-a circuit) which I find to be inherently bright-(as many people do).I put this speaker in a combo cabinet, thinking the wattage difference would tame the high end.It did not.Although the amp is 25 watts and the speaker is rated at 120 watts, this speaker accurately projects the "true blue" sound of your amp.Which is great for some-not so great for others.I am currently waiting for a Cannabis Rex speaker which at 50 watts is much more efficient and IMO better suited for MY amp.I will post a review of it after breaking it in for awhile.
