Comments about Ernie Ball 2151 Earthwood Phosphor Bronze Rock & Blues Acoustic Guitar Strings:

While they don't have the life span I'm used to, the are in every other way the perfect string for acoustic blues/rock/folk.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2151 Earthwood Phosphor Bronze Rock & Blues Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I hate to give a bad review of Earthwood because I've played and loved the other Earthwood strings; however I tried these Rock & Blues strings on my Taylor as well as my Fender Sonoran and was not happy at all with the sound. For me I think it is the fact that the g-string is like an electric string and not wound like an acoustic string. Because of that, when I strum the whole acoustic sound is "off". Sure the string is easier to bend for lead, but to me it's not worth the trade off of having a bad sound when strumming.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2151 Earthwood Phosphor Bronze Rock & Blues Acoustic Guitar Strings:

last year I got hooked on the EB Earthwood 2008 Rock and Blues strings I can play leads with bends I was happy sound was a bit bright. I went to order more and found Ernie Ball makes a NEW Earthwood Rock & Blues Phos/Bronze Alloy #2151 so I ordered a few sets that came in 3 days put them on my Jumbo Gretsch and was blow away with the big sound with the same action. I can jam on them for hour and not wear out my fingers and bend like a mad man.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2151 Earthwood Phosphor Bronze Rock & Blues Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I've been a novice at these guitars since I started playing in the '60s, always learning. Had plenty of favorite strings, some hung around longer than others.
I was looking for a little something different for my arch top, all the regular strings just sounded a tad off. Noticed these while looking at straps, shouldn't need to ask, lol.
The unwound G string is what did it I believe, plus the cool name "Rock & Blues"
I pulled off the Elixirs & put these on, tuned her up & hit a couple chords . . . . . I read somewhere once about the clouds parting & angels singing, well not that grand but I'm very much impressed. Beautifully balanced sound across the strings, open or barred they have a good comfortable feel.
Time will tell on performance but for now I got a great sounding arch top begging to be played, thanks Musicians Friend.
