Deep sound, BOOOOM. Is the sound you will get from this head, you will not be disappointed.
Easy to tune, that is one of the great features of Evans heads. It is surprising how easy you can tune this head in minutes without hassle.
I have a Yamaha Stage Custom Advantage Noveau which is gorgeous in every way. This head that I bought compliments the floor tom I got it for.
Thank you Evans!

My tom drums have Keller VSS 6 ply maple shells with the bearing edges custom formed by Portland custom drum maker Jeff Kirsch (awesome quality!) To my memory, he had recommended Evans G1 coated heads, which I have had on my toms for a long time. I thought I could improve the tone with the G2 clear, but I am disappointed almost beyond words. A single thickness head can resonate, but a dual thickness head appears to give a thud, but not much tone. I tried a looser tuning and then a medium tuning. Both were unacceptable to my ear. I re-installed the G1 coated, and I am content with that sound. (Hint: with a drum dial tuner, the G1 sounds good with a tension of 71 on the batter, and 73 on the resonant heads. Try tighter if you want more boing and less Indian tom sound.)
If you buy these, try just one at first, like I did. At least that limited how much money I was wasting.

Comments about Evans G2 Clear Batter Drumhead:
Believe folks I have tried just about every head out there on my kits, including Remo, Aquarian and Evans and finally landed on the G2 batters over the Resonant Glass heads on my 74 Rogers Holiday kit. I tend to tune a bit low for that thick, attack filled thud and these have been the best at getting this sound. I admit that they are very close in tone to the clear emperors which I like a lot also but there was just something extra that I got from the G2 clear batters that I didn't get with any other heads out there. I also tried the coated G2 batters and didn't like them as much. They didn't have as much life as the clears. If you have an older kit that is finicky to tune and are looking for something to maybe end your tom head search then give these a try. I mainly tune by ear, but as a reference try tunebot or idrumtech numbers of 146 over 174 for a 12x8 tom and about 103 over 110 for a 16x16 floor tom. Since I landed on these heads and these approximate tunings, I now play more than I experiment or tune! Give it a try!

Comments about Evans G2 Clear Batter Drumhead:
This head came loaded on my 2012 Gretsch, Renown Kit. I was so impressed with the sound quality that when it came time to replace the heads, I knew I would use them again & again.
Comments about Evans G2 Clear Batter Drumhead:
I used to swear by Coated G2's but I've recently decided that I prefer the sound produced by clear drum heads on toms. I've tried Remo Pinstripes, but as with everything Remo I didn't like them at all.For studio work/general drumming I think these are the best drumheads you can use, assuming you can tune right in the first place. When playing live I usually have to muffle them a little bit with some moongel, but leaving them open and resonant for recording works very well.I usually replace my drumheads on my main set (a ddrum dominion maple) every year, but whatever was on before gets moved to one of my practice kits, and they usually last a long time.

Comments about Evans G2 Clear Batter Drumhead:
I like the tone that the Evans product creates. I change my heads often to maintain that attack I want out of the drum. The tone of the heads seem to fall out quicker thus I change more often. I can't get that sound I want out of the Remo head material that I can out of the Evans material. Not sure why there is a difference but Evans products work for me.
Comments about Evans G2 Clear Batter Drumhead:
If your looking for the best all around drumhead these are the way to go hands down! I put brand new coated g2s on just before these and hated them.! Terrible stick response, projection, and overall feel. Swapped them out for these clear g2's and walaa! The golden ticket to a perfect tom tone!!!

Comments about Evans G2 Clear Batter Drumhead:
To the drummer stating that one must tune a 2 ply batter head tighter than a one ply batter head. That is not always true. A lot of factors will come into play. Example. Shell ply thickness, shell depth.Shell material and the angle of bearing edge degree to name a few. My drums are Pearl masters Birch Studio. I have used nearly every head type available to us and I can assure you this. Nearly every head type will give your kit a different voice. I would like to suggest that you take your visual tuning device and place it in a drawer and try listening with your ears to tune and not your eyes. Also don't be timid on tuning these heads low. Just get them tight and apply a little pressure with the palm of your hand to the middle of each drum.Do this to your bottom heads too. This will lower the pitch a little. Then try re-tuning the drums up ever so slightly. I believe you will be happy with the end result. Good luck and happy drumming

Comments about Evans G2 Clear Batter Drumhead:
I admit I resisted using Evans again. I've used them before with OK results. But I ended up trying Level 360 clear G2s as tom batters and clear Level 360 G1s as resos. Immediate improvement. The drums came to life like never before. The toms tuned up quickly and easily. I also have a power center reverse dot on the snare and a clear GMAD on the kick. I've finally found my sound!

Comments about Evans G2 Clear Batter Drumhead:
I have used various drum heads in my days... This head completely BLOWS them all out of the water!!! Im using this head on my 12" Gretsch Catalina Club Rock Tom... IT BLENDS IN WONDERFULLY!!!
Comments about Evans G2 Clear Batter Drumhead:
I bought this drumhead in an Evans drumhead pack that came with Evans G2 clear 12'13'16 batter heads, Evans G1 Snare head, which I am going to use later for a replacement for my Evans Powercenter, and a Evans EQ4 bass head 22'.This drumhead has alot of attack and it has that boom that I like especially being a metal drummer. It has moderate sustain and a very warm fat tone.Last, It is super durable!Buy!!
Comments about Evans G2 Clear Batter Drumhead:
These are the true all-arounders when it comes to drum heads; batters or resonant heads, these'll get the job done. They have great response, a round yet defined edge, and a tone and sustain that simply sings. I bought a set of these as batters for my set and even before I changed out the wafer-thin stock resonant heads the tone was improved tenfold. Whether tuning high or low, the sound quality is very consistant (even between different sized heads), and I would reccomend these to just about anybody.
Comments about Evans G2 Clear Batter Drumhead:
The Genera G2 (Clear) heads are great tom heads. I uses them for the batter side on (usually)a 12" and 16" tom set-up. I find that they are easy to tune, relatively consistent between heads, and have great responsiveness/clarity. Whenever I am doing I recording project I always purchase a new set of clear G2's for my toms. The downside is that I have found after about 3-4 weeks of frequent play they lose a lot of their tonality, so you have to buy them more often. (lame). But while they last they sound better than most tom heads out there and look at the price! I still use Aquarian skins for my Snare and Bass Drum but when It comes to toms...go Evans!
Comments about Evans G2 Clear Batter Drumhead:
Excellent
I decided to do this on the 14" Evans G2 head. I have Evans G2 on all my toms. The 14" is on my floor Tom and it sounds fantastic. They do scratch pretty easy but other than that, they're great. I would definatly pick these heads up!!!
Comments about Evans G2 Clear Batter Drumhead:
I was kind of skeptical on how these heads would sound(because I was a Remo drummer) but I gave them a try. At first they sounded ok until I switched out the resonant heads on all of my toms and boy did they start to sing(even on Pacific LX's). They sounded better than my remo emperors. If you get these match them with evans glass resonant heads and you won't ever regret it.!!!!!
Comments about Evans G2 Clear Batter Drumhead:
These drum heads are great, and perfect for my style wich is metal, they are versatile though. These heads last a long time, and I hit hard. These are now my go to heads,im gonna always buy these.
Comments about Evans G2 Clear Batter Drumhead:
Gave my drum a nice boing sound. Much more character than coated head.
