Comments about Fender Stratocaster Neck, 21 Medium Jumbo Frets:

... with just a bit of work. The neck does come pre-drilled for modern style tuners, but vintage tuners can be installed with conversion bushings and hand drilling seven small holes. Honestly, it isn't difficult. Tutorials are online everywhere.

As for the neck itself, it has a slightly chunkier profile than the 94 MIM neck it replaced, which is a good thing. The frets are also a bit bigger, also a major plus for me. The new satin finish on the back of the neck is wonderfully smooth to the touch and is much nicer than the old gloss.

Really the only negative is the frets could have been dressed and polished a bit better. They weren't horrible, leveling was nominally acceptable, but they did need to be properly dressed and polished to play buzz free. Not exactly the job for a novice. As it is, I routinely do my own fret work, so no big deal.

All in all, a neck with excellent woodwork and finish, flawed only by fretwork that needs finishing by someone with experience. Me, I'm happy with it.

Comments about Fender Stratocaster Neck, 21 Medium Jumbo Frets:

The neck looks great and it was easy to install on the body. This was a "temporary" replacement on my American Strat because it really needed a fret job and replacing the neck was a cheaper option than what I was quoted for the fret job. The neck is a bit chunkier than the American neck but not bad plus I already knew that. My biggest issue was that the nut slots required a fair amount of filing down to get the action to where it needs to be. Once I did that, the action was easy to set up and it plays great. Also, there are no holes for string trees so I ended up making a template of my American neck headstock to make sure I drilled the holes in the right places.

Comments about Fender Stratocaster Neck, 21 Medium Jumbo Frets:

Fit perfect in my squier standard strat- I prefer maple over rosewood fingerboards. Neck is straight, plays fantatic, and the wood grain looks great. The squier tuning keys were not compatible though.

Comments about Fender Stratocaster Neck, 21 Medium Jumbo Frets:

It's pre-drilled for 2-peg tuning machines, which precludes transfer of vintage style tuning machines from the old neck. Holes are also too big for vintage bushings. I'm deciding whether to return it or upgrade to the newer tuners - I'd hoped to keep the '63 Strat as original as possible.

The neck is of good Fender quality and should work fine on later models.

Comments about Fender Stratocaster Neck, 21 Medium Jumbo Frets:

I bought this neck to replace a neck with a Rosewood fretboard on a Standard Strat. This was my first Strat, bought new 17 years ago. I now own two additional Strats, one of which is an American Deluxe. I discovered along the way that I strongly prefer a Maple fretboard and medium-jumbo frets, so bought this replacement neck to "upgrade" my trusty 17 year old Strat.

I'm delighted with the results. Fit was perfect; Alignment was perfect with no need to sand the the heel of the neck or the pocket, and no shims were needed. I'm fanatical about setup, and fully expected to spend time doing these things, but not necessary :-) Also, the fretwork is excellent - not quite equivalent to American Deluxe but mighty close!

The nut is very high quality and only needs string-slot filing and finish-shaping, sanding, and polishing. A set of nut-slot files and a nut shaping files are the best tools for this.

Comments about Fender Stratocaster Neck, 21 Medium Jumbo Frets:

This Genuine Fender Standard Replacement Neck is absolutely immaculate. It's of the high quality and exceptional standard I've come to expect from Fender. They have yet to disappoint me. Installing string trees and filing your nut is a bit more difficult and takes absolute precision, the right skills and the correct tools.

No issues installing on a Squire body. Fret work is very good and useable out of the box. I swapped to a graph tech nut right away, so can't comment on the nut. Slots are cut, but it looked to need some finishing work, which is to be expected. Overall, I'm really happy with it. Great for upgrading a Squire or throwing on a partscaster.

Comments about Fender Stratocaster Neck, 21 Medium Jumbo Frets:

A very effective way to improve a Squier Standard. Very impressed with quality. As one reviewer noted, the Squier tuning pegs don't fit (the two locating pins are further offset on Fender neck). No problem, as I upgraded to the locking tuners, and very glad I did. The 4-bolt neck mounting is a perfect fit. The nut does take a bit of care, and a lot of filing, to get the action low enough. It surprised me how much better the guitar is with a real Fender neck, and I highly recommend this to everyone.

Comments about Fender Stratocaster Neck, 21 Medium Jumbo Frets:

I broke my Strat neck many years ago and had purchased a cheap knock-off neck at that time. I used it for quite a few years until I decided to finally buy a real Fender neck. I bought some locking tuners that were a real pain to install on the knock-off neck but this Fender neck was already pre-drilled for these type of tuners - what a pleasure! The neck itself is sleek and smooth and exactly what you'd expect a Fender neck to feel like! I'm extremely pleased with this purchase!

No longer call myself a "professional" as it's not my profession anymore.I put in a lot of time on the road & in bar bands from 1975 until 2008.Now I'm playing with an incredible bunch of musicians in a contemporary Christian band.Pedal steel is my main instrument, but I missed playing my "Parts-0-Caster" Strat...Always preferred maple board over rosewood but somehow ended up with two American Standard Teles, both with rosewood boards.Had the partscaster sitting around since 2010 & finally after procrastinating, bought this neck for it.GREAT neck...Livened up the tone & plays beautifully.Yes,I'd buy again, would recommend to a friend or anyone looking a good neck.Plan on putting one on my B Bender Am STD Tele soon as I get caught up on things.Right now,I have a great playing "Strat" which will be even better once I put the Clapton loaded pickguard in.

The neck is of good quality, straight, frets are well finished, finish on maple fret board is well done. The nut that fender uses is brittle so take care for final cutting. This set right in to a 1992 Fender Strat (MM) that I rebuilt, the old neck had lots of wear and the truss nut rod was stripped. Reasonable price for replacing a neck.

My Fender GC-1 Roland-Ready Strat needed a fret job, and I have never liked the "Powered by Roland" logo on the headstock. So rather than replace it with the more expensive MIA neck (22 fret), I decided to take a chance and ordered this MIM 21-fret replacement neck instead, with the maple fretboard. I am very pleased with it. The frets were dressed nicely, the nut looks the same as my MIA neck, and it bolted right on very nicely--a very good fit. It didn't need any intonation or truss rod adjustment. As advertised, it did need to have the nut slots cut for my specific string diameters (10-13-15-26-32-38) which I did myself with my StewMac nut files, but it looked to me like the nut slots may have been OK as-is with my relatively light string set. I also installed locking tuners, which required the two small guide holes per tuner that this neck has, and the fit for those was perfect. Also the back of the neck is satin finished, and not glossy, like my original GC-1 neck--I like the satin much better. My tuners are staggered, and I have a Blade Runner Super-V bridge, so I don't use any string trees--just realize that if you need to install string trees, you will have to drill the holes yourself. Bottom line--this neck will stay on my guitar until I need another fret job, and then I will most likely replace it with this same MIM neck--a very good product for the price.
