Everyone has their own opinion on what works for them and what doesn't when it comes to strings. And these just work for me. I've tried just about every string on the market. Everything from brands that have been around forever to the latest and supposedly greatest. The newest alloys....everything. And I always come back to GHS Boomers. I should have never strayed away from them. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. They last as long as any string out there. They hold their tone as well as any popular brand. To me, the tension feels just right. Flexible enough to bend easily, yet firm enough for excellent intonation. They are a working musicians string. The round cores give them a hint of warmth and aggressive mids while retaining brightness without brittleness. I have used D'Addarrios a bit in the past but find they tarnish quicker and lose too end bite quicker than the GHS. Compared to the Boomers, D'Addario XL's sound sterile. The Boomers sound alive. Put it this way...If they GHS Strings were good enough for Randy Rhoads and Stevie Ray Vaughan and continue to be good enough for David Gilmour, then they are plenty good enough for us mere mortals.

GHS boomers were some of the first strings I ever used. However, I have tried many types to find the strings that are best for me, and in my opinion GHS doesn't compare to companies like Ernie Ball, Dean Markley, and D'addario in terms of sound. The feel of these strings are average. There's nothing bad, but nothing really special about them either. They bend alright. I would recommend any of the strings I mentioned above over GHS boomers.

Ever since I got GHS Guitar Boomers

Comments about GHS GBXL Boomers Extra Light Electric Guitar Strings:

Ever since I got GHS Guitar Boomers with my Les Paul, I never switched strings. I got more addicted to these things than the other strings I used. These strings have that powerful performance that last over 2 months. I also loved that wicked tone they bring with and even without an amp. They can be used for any genre, like rock, metal, country, punk, blues etc. You should also notice the leisure with the tone, lasting, and performance that these things can shove in your face!

Comments about GHS GBXL Boomers Extra Light Electric Guitar Strings:

I first started using GHS when they first came out. Remember the little fuzzy guy they used to put on the package cover? These strings are punchy and musically liquid sounding, durable and slinky. Very high quality string, Stevie Ray the Magnificent used GHS, a greater endorsement they could not have! It's a string that feels so good to your hands and sounds so good to your ears, that you don't want to put the guitar down.

Comments about GHS GBXL Boomers Extra Light Electric Guitar Strings:

I have tried almost every brand out there and nothing compares to ghs. There's a reason why Randy rhoads used these. They sound the best. I use all gauges ranging from 9's to 12's. Ghs are still the best

Comments about GHS GBXL Boomers Extra Light Electric Guitar Strings:

They seem to work better with my strats, than with my humbucker-equipped guitars. The tone is outstanding on my strats. I'm VERY fussy about my sound, and really love the tone my strats put out with a new set of boomers on them.

          A Great Value

Comments about GHS GBXL Boomers Extra Light Electric Guitar Strings:

Been using GHS GBXL Boomers for years. I switched to these many years ago after taking in a guitar to the store I purchased it from to have the action professionally set up. After getting my guitar back and playing it at home for awhile, I went back to the store to ask what strings the tech had installed because I really liked them. GHS Boomers .009-.042. In trying out two other gauges of GHS Boomers since, I find Boomers to be the best value for the money. My personal preference in gauge is .009-.042. Provided I wipe my GBXL's down with a bandana after each session, they retain flexibility and quality of tone for a good long time. As a comparison with at least one other brand, . While the initial tone and ring was superb, they didn't last anywhere near as long as GHS Boomers.

Comments about GHS GBXL Boomers Extra Light Electric Guitar Strings:

These are the best strings I have ever bought. Tone is awesome and they agree perfectly with my dual humbuckers. Easy to play and smoother so less wear and tear on your fingers if you slide alot. I have tried lots of strings and these are the best. My only gripe is I find myself playing guitar so much more that I wear the strings out in 1.5 months.

Comments about GHS GBXL Boomers Extra Light Electric Guitar Strings:

I usually order a 10-pack set of extra light gauge... All 10 are each sealed in their separate package... Recently I ordered only 5 sets of the same gauge... These 5 came with each set packaged in a paper
envelope, old style I think... I put one set on a guitar... Two strings, 2nd & 3rd, were "dead", unusable...
Were these 5 sets from "old inventory"?? I will not bother stringing up the other 4... Don't let me down after using GHS strings for 25 years or more... Strings in "sealed" packages have always been excellent...

Used these strings since I started 33 years ago, have tried other brands but have removed them, threw them away and restrung with GHS. I prefer the .009-.042 set they sound the best to me. have used different sizes up and down but these are the ones I like the most. Last for a long time even when one of several guitar I have winds up sitting for a while without being played these still perform excellently after time.

Love, love love GHS Boomers...

I've been using GHS strings for many years because they just don't break very often. Back in the day I used Fender strings and would break one in 3 or 4 days, then tried Ernie Ball and would break one in as little as a day, tried D'Addario and they felt like they "rolled" when you bent them, so when GHS would last 2 or 3 weeks playing 5 nights a week, I just stuck with 'em! I just play til 1 breaks & change 'em all... the starving musician's way!

They are one of the best on the martket, if not the best and I have been using then for 20 years. Many new custom sets to fit anyone needs. I use the .009s mostly on my Les Pauls, great bends and great sustain.

Been using GHS strings for most of the time i have been playing guitar. Yea, i've tried all the other top name brands but i always come back to GHS 9-42's. They sound the best and last the longest and most importantly, feel the best!! Try a set, you won't be disapointed and you might just discover "Your" new strings.
