Gibson Elev8 Plus Humbucker Bridge Pickup - Zebra

Since inventing the original Patent Applied For humbucking pickup in 1955, Gibson has continued to refine the voice of the humbucker through new materials, winding techniques and evolving designs. The Gibson Elev8 Plus humbucker bridge pickup marks the next chapter in that legacy as the first Gibson humbucker to feature a powerful Alnico 8 magnet. Combined with custom-gauge wire, this innovative design delivers exceptional output, tight low-end response and remarkable clarity, while its overwound design produces the added punch, sustain and harmonic richness demanded by today's high-gain players.

Overwound Alnico 8 Design for Maximum Output

Designed to complement the standard Elev8 neck pickup, the Elev8 Plus features an overwound 15k design that pushes the Alnico 8 magnet and custom-gauge wire platform even further for increased output and a thicker, more authoritative voice. Wax potting helps minimize unwanted microphonic feedback at higher gain levels, while 4-conductor wiring supports a variety of switching options, including coil splitting, for expanded tonal flexibility. With its powerful voicing, tight bass response and exceptional note definition, the Gibson Elev8 Plus delivers the aggressive attack, sustain and clarity modern players need for crushing rhythm tones and soaring lead work.
