Take the guesswork out of tuning.
A compact dedicated guitar and bass tuner with new circular display
The KORG GT-4 is a dedicated guitar and bass tuner that automatically detects an instrument's pitch and offers simple operation. With a large note name display in the center and red LEDs that rotate in a circular pattern, it is a revolutionary tuner with superb visibility.
It supports seven-string guitars (7B through 1E) in Guitar mode, and six-string basses (Low-B through Hi-C) in Bass mode. While compact, it instantly indicates the pitch with the high precision you expect from Korg. The built-in high-sensitivity mic supports tuning of acoustic guitars as well.
Three tuning modes: Strobe, Mirror, and Meter
The GT-4 lets you choose one of three ways in which the LED's will indicate the tuning. The triangular green tuning guides indicate whether the input is sharp or flat, and show when the instrument is tuned perfectly.
The red LEDs will begin rotating when you play a note on your instrument, and will stop when your instrument is in tune. The LED's will rotate clockwise if your instrument is sharp or counterclockwise if your instrument is flat. When the tuning is correct, the two tuning guides will light simultaneously.
This newly developed tuning method takes advantage of this unique type of illumination. The bright red LED indicates the pitch of your instrument; simply tune your instrument to make the bright red LED coincide with the dim red LED's. The bright red LED will move to the right of center if the input pitch is sharp, or to the left if it is flat.
Tune your instrument so that the bright red LED is aligned with the green tuning guide in the center as on a conventional needle type tuner.
Quinta-flat tuning mode
Useful for dropped tunings, Quinta-flat tuning mode lets you calibrate the GT-4 from one to five semitones below standard pitch.
Designed for easy operation
The Korg GT-4 is designed for effortless operation with switches conveniently located when held in the palm of your hand.
In Strobe mode, if approximately thirty seconds have elapsed without any audio input, the rotating red LED's will go dark. If approximately ten minutes have elapsed with no audio input while powered-on, the GT-4 will automatically turn off to prevent unnecessary battery consumption.

For the last 3 years I've been using a Sabine tuner, but it didn't have a back light so it was hard to tune my bass if there wasn't good light. This tuner is awesome! I like the fact that there are 3 different tuning modes, and it has bright LEDs. I haven't used it outdoors yet so I don't know if the LEDs will pose a problem in the sun. I chose this tuner over the DT-4 because it will tune up to a 6-string bass. I play a 5-string, and it tunes the B-string quickly and accurately. This is a great product for anyone!!!
This is my first bass tuner, and I love it. The strobe display on the Korg GT-4 Guitar/Bass Compact Strobe Tuner happens to spin in the direction that I need to turn my tuning key to get into tune. The other display modes are also useful for fine tuning since the strobe display will sometimes be turning so slowly that it's hard to read. One down side to this tuner is that when you are initially tuning a new string, it will not lock in until you are within 1/2 step of the pitch for that string. A chromatic tuner would at least tell you which note you are close to.My tuner for some reason does not like my G-string and will only pick it up intermittently regardless of the tuning mode. It's not bad enough to worry about, but it is enough to make me want a pedal tuner ASAP!
Whom ever designed this tuner must have been high on something. I had put another tuner next to it to figure out when it was suppose to be on key. The different display modes will make you crazy if you weren't already. The digital readout is poor.
I use this tuner though the headphone out on my amp, and after tuning e-e twice i find i am in tune well. the flat setting is very nice, although i wish i could drop-d without using the flat setting. the different modes are very nice. they only problem with this tuner is that i can not tune my acoustic with it, well at least not very easily. Bottom line: great first tuner for the money, but nowhere near where a higher end tuner.
This tuner is 1/2 a step off. It's just useless.I thought that a small pretty digital display tuner with pretty little led displays might replace analog such as Boss. Well, maybe something else could, but not this one.
I bought this as an extra a few months ago. It is not chromatic but it is offered in chromatic. For tuning a standard guitar or even a bass it is perfect. I gave it away the other day to a kid I know who couldn't understand most other tuners that jump around a lot. I will purchase another. It evens tunes my 5-string bass in deep B and high C
