This is the best brass slide available, period. It's thick which leads to great tone, especially on acoustic. The shape makes it very comfortable and the flare makes getting good pressure on the bass strings much easier. It is worn with the flare end up for this purpose. It should be no surprise that it's as good as it is since it was designed in collaboration with Leo Kottke. It took them 2 years to find the right brass alloy. See the history at Latch Lake's site I compared this to the Harris slide from Dunlop and while that is a nice slide it's like comparing a Kia to a Bentley. When you pick up the AcustaGlide you'll say "WOW" before you even touch a string with it.
This is the best slide I have ever used. The sustain is excellent, and it produces very warm tones and clear notes. The only drawback is that it's a little on the heavy side, yet after a short while of using it it's barely noticeable; the weight itself probably contributes to the quality anyway, so all in all there really aren't any downsides to this slide. Because of the alloy, apparently, it is tarnish resistant. My hands tend to sweat a lot when I play, and I've had no problems after owning this for about seven months.
Fantastic slide that works beautifully. Great tone on a regular acoustic and a resonator. I was looking for a replacement to some light brass slides I love but of which I only have two, and this slide from Latch Lake has become my favorite.
The AcoustaGlide Slide by Latchlake is the best brass slide I own. Milled from a chunk of brass, rather than just a section of tubing, it has mass and tone. If tendonitis does not prohibit you from using a heavy, tone soaked slide- this one is for you.
