This cable is only used on my 'gigging' bass guitars (Fender American J-bass and Squier short-scale) I haven't had any issues with noise or hum, as some other reviewers mentioned. I have three of these cables, with the right angle plug and I'll stand by them. In fact, three times, I stepped on the cable as I was dancing around the stage - once I was pulled down to the floor and once it pulled me into a brick wall, damaging the body of my J-bass. That same cable is still working great!

The S-100 is a great cable for all applications. This is one of my all time favorite cables and certainly in my top 3 overall. Great go to cable for anything. I have 2, 21 footers running my fx loop and a 12ft right angle for most of my guitar work. I also have a few Monster Rock cables when I wanna get serious and I am on the Marshall jcm stack.
Monster has an awesome way of "tunning" their cables (almost like different guages of strings) by using different and multiple core conductor sizes to enhance specific frequency responses. Thus equaling a fuller more organic tone. Even though the S-100 seriers is their "affordable" line, they still pay a good amount of detail in these cables as well.
I have sat down with multiple cables and put them up against Monster. With the same practice Marshall, same headphones, same setting and same Les Paul the Monster cables have the best and most transperent tone over my Planet waves custom, Mogami silver, Horizon concert series and live wire advantage. My ears don't lie, and that should tell you something!
If you are looking for a great cable for the price, you must buy the S series. It's indistructable, moves well with your body, very quiet and sounds great for the money. Buy One!

Monster cable

Comments about Monster Legacy S-100 1/4" Straight - Angled Instrument Cable:

I bought this cable thinking it would be a good purchase based on the fact that Monster's name was on it. I was very disappointed the minute I used it for the first time. There is so much static and noise from it. My cheap cables are better than this one. Don't waste your money.

Comments about Monster Legacy S-100 1/4" Straight - Angled Instrument Cable:

These are some of the best cables out there. I can't tell you how many cables I've bought that went bad on me. I've owned another Monster S-100 instrument cable for over 6 years and haven't had any problems. As many know, the key to durability is in the connectors. The connectors on these are virtually indestructible. I guess the only downside would be if you did have a problem, you can't really disassemble these connectors to fix it yourself. However, I've never had the need to.

This cable felt "cheap", probably what I should have expected given price. It is much thinner than the Fender cable I bought it to replace. Hopefully it lasts longer. Tone was clear.

I bought this for my new DOT and Fender Mustang II. It is the lower priced model of the Monster cables but it works very well. No static or hums or crackles. Also, I don't know what the material is that encases the wires but it is very manageable and coils nicely.

This cable is as good as it gets for the price. It comes with different colored rubber bands to put on the ends and a velcro strap. My only complaint is that it was packaged with zip ties that put marks on it and were difficult to remove without damaging it. Other than that, this cable sounds great and is worth the money.

I currently own two of these cables. One of them i have had for almost two years now, and it still works exeptionally well. I am one who plays bass often, and I don't treat my cables too greatly, so if this one has lasted me for almost two years, it just has to be good quality. It has very low noise, looks nice, and is decently skinny, which are all great qualities for a cable to have. Stop your search here, this is the one to put in your cart.

I know you probbaly won't read this review, being as it is a negative one against a good brand. But you might qwant to read this, because I was surprised as well. I've had this for over a year, and this thing broke a couple of months ago with not much use... I plugged it in one day and got this crackling sound when I'd move the cable. It wasn't too bad, so I just ignored it. Then i had about a three month period of not needing a giant 21' cable, so it kind of went in storage for a bit. When i took it out to play again, it hardly worked at all unless it was stuck in a certain position. It couldn't even be stepped on. It either worked very poorly, or not at all. Maybe I just got a defective cable, because this thing didn't take any abuse, but this thing has a lifetime warranty so I'm gonna try tog et a replacement sometime.

I always went for the bargain cables as I never cared wasting $$ for an instrument cable. I got used to the noise comming out of my Fender Jazz Standard as single coil pick-ups tend to give, specially running them through a couple of pedals.I went ahead and tried this monster cable and like a miracle the moise is gone, in every setup I've tried! Now I will never ever go for anything other than Monster

I bought two of these recently; one for each of two stage guitars, to replace my older cables and wireless. I wasn't a believer in the Monster cable hype, but I needed good cables. I opted for these over the expensive versions. Upon plugging in for the first time I definately noticed a few differences in my tone. There was much more broad-spectrum midrange, actually less highs and a tighter low end. Just seemed to make my tone more alive and present without adding highs. I was pleasantly surprised. Next time I'll spend double and get the better ones, but these should be fine for quite a while. I wish they had heavy-duty connectors.

Comments about Monster Legacy S-100 1/4" Straight - Angled Instrument Cable:

I purchased two of these cables in 20ft and several in shorter lengths over a year ago. I have been replacing 10 year old cables that have been fixed numerous times and was looking for a high quality name brand cable that offered excellent sound and construction quality. I decided on these cables and have been very happy with my purchase. Not only do they appear to be high quality, they are very neutral sounding and noise free. I feel this is an entry level professional cable. This cable series is good enough to be used professionally on stage or in the studio but is not the same quality as more expensive Monster Cable brand or other high end cables. These cables probably seem high compared to the standard cables usually found in music stores but I feel these are a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to upgrade their sound from basic or old cables. Definitely please and will buy again.

I didn't really notice any difference in sound, this is ok if you're looking for something to practice with. After about a week the angled end started "cutting out" making and obnoxious feedback sound every time i moved the cable in the guitar jack. If you're looking for something that's durable and sounds great, save up and buy a Mogami.
