This unit can save your better Mic clips from being broken by leaving them on the stand when transporting. The button is easier to work than unscrewing the adaptor. Pushing the button is about as fast as taking off the Mic from the adaptor, but the button is a little stiff to be faster. This might change with repeated use. The adaptor also adds two inches to the length of your stand - useful for boom stands!

Bought the other brand from an online dealer, they were nearly triple in price, and all plastic, wouldn't work so I gave them both to a recent college grad musician. Bought these and very happy. All metal, can screw them down tight, but mine won't hold mics, mine will support a Ninja2 and Tascam recorder on my digital video unit. Buy these. Get a couple extra cause you will need more bottom units than top.

I bought this item because the boom mount on my K&M Spider stand is just awful. It has European threads with a cheap plastic adapter. Each time I tried to screw my boom onto it, it took forever, then I couldn't get the boom off at the end of the night. This little item screws onto the boom mount on the K&M then onto the bottom of the boom. Just push the button, mount the boom and you're ready to go. At the end of the night, push the button, release the boom and go home! I highly recommend this item.

The female end is slightly thinner walled, but not so thin that it concerns me - just comparing. The male end is just as tough as the original, and that's the end that gets banged around with all of the other mic stands. The female should be staying with mic clip in a padded case.

Great for the studio to swap mics with different clips and keep stands in place. Though I started using these 20+ years ago to protect mic clips when all the stands get tossed in the case after a gig.

I'm not sure anymore how many of these I own. I seem to keep running out of them as my business grows. We do a lot of live recordings and these quick release connectors allows us to get our expensive mics down and safe in record time after a show. They have held up very well.

I bought this to be able to attach a small light bank to a mic stand for additional lighting at gigs. I placed an adapter at the top and used a lock nut to attach the light. Now all I have to do is set up the stand and snap on the light.

I use microphones for wedding ceremonies where the DJ does not provide microphones for the officiant or performers during the ceremony. With the amplifier I have I can only use two microphones at a time. So, for any soloists or duets, I put their mikes on a stand with the adaptor. They can remove it, perform and easily put it back on, so farther in the ceremony, the bride and groom can use it to recite their vows. They're durable and easy to install and use.

This mic adaptor would be perfect if it wasn't for the button. The button makes it possible to take the mic. away from the stand, a thing we do all the time. But having to deal with a lock button makes it less usable

I play at several clubs & events and several times I am asked if the club or events person can use my microphone to make announcements or comments. I use a shure 55 deluxe mic & to say the least it is difficult to unscrew the mic each time so the person speaking can stand out in front of the crowd. This little gadget is worth its weight. It is easy to put on the mic stand and unlocks with just a push of the button..no more hassles. Highly recommend this item.
