The idea of something compact, easy to use and transport, and quiet is a great idea. Can use it for scales, chords and leads. You can even practice finger picking if you hold it right. Why Pocketstrings has not fixed the issue with the sharp frets is beyond me. Otherwise the overall construction and materials is good.

In short, a piece of useless junk. I nearly cut my self on the fret ends, no point in trying to tune it, you can't, and even if you could SO WHAT ?
They seem to leave out the part about NOT BEING ABLE TO STRUM THE THING !! In the, "Happy videos" you see someone "playing" it, while others look on, entertained. By what, there's NO SOUND ! Just a piece of plastic with 6 raised lines, that you can pretend to strum>
And most importantly, IF THERE IS NO SOUND, OR WAY TO PLAY THE STRINGS, YOU CANNOT PRACTICE WITH IT !!!!!!! WHAT POSSIBLE GOOD IS FRETTING A STRING, WHEN YOU CAN'T HERE IF YOU'RE DOING IT RIGHT.? YOU COULD BE PLAYING THE CHORD, OR NOTE RUN, WRONG AND NEVER KNOW IT. SO I ASK YOU,....IS THAT PRACTICING, NOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!
NOT a practice ,....anything ! (
Reviews that claim playability (finger picking ?) are placed by pro. PR firms, putting out false faverable reviews. It would be the sams as a "6" fret guitar, the 3rd fret would in essence be the 12th fret half way, (presumably) between the nut and saddle. and that won't work folks !

Now you can practice anytime and any place. Strings could be tighter to simulate pressing on guitar strings.

The idea is good but that all I can say about this PocketString. Easy to use and transport. But I found useless the distance between frets just wrong. You can practice finger if you boring. So, overall construction is good.

      Comments about PocketStrings 6 Fret:

I don't use it for the purpose it's designed for (practicing specific chords) - instead I bought it and use it to build up the calluses on my fingertips when I can't use a guitar (when I'm driving or a passenger in a car, for example). I have a gig coming up and won't have enough actual guitar time to toughen up my fingers!

This is a waste of money. Unless all you want is to practice finger placement, without sound, you have no verifiable way to learn.

              Comments about PocketStrings 6 Fret:

I travel a lot for work and I have been looking for something to practice my cords and scales on while I am away from home. I wanted something that would fit in a suitcase without taking up a lot of room so at some point I realized a travel guitar would be too large. A pocket string is very compact when folded up so it fits in a suitcase or briefcase easily without taking up much room. It is a perfect practice tool for your left hand. This is not a travel guitar, but it is a very good practice tool, even if you use it just to keep your fingers coordinated and limber. I plan to get another to keep around the house for when I am watching TV.

I have the Pocketstrings in my office desk. I wanted to practice scale forms and replace air-guitars with something useful. Mission accomplished. The frets replicate the top of the guitar, this means you may have issues practicing some techniques, adjust accordingly. Overall I really enjoy it.

                      Comments about PocketStrings 6 Fret:

I am just learning to play guitar & bought the PocketStrings device because I was looking at a couple of weeks of travel, when I wouldn't have my guitar with me. A couple of days in, I appreciate that I can practice my chords and strumming patterns, and maintain my new callouses. The only negatives are that, of course, that there is no sound, and it's not as easy to hold as a guitar.
