Double bass drummers take note - this is indeed a pack of 2, BUT they're 2 DIFFERENT versions - the white one most of us know, and a black one that is a totally different texture (which will affect beater sound and make both kicks sound different). I just wish the product description noted that...I would have ordered 2 packs. Now I have to run to a local store to get a matching pad.

Other than that, these things are obviously a god-send. Must have product!

Hands down this Remo patch is the best impact pad on the market. Every other companies impact pads will wear though, but not the Remo Kevlar one! This bad boy will last you the life of the head. This really is the best that money can buy.

Bought these for my fifteen year old metal head. Definitely worth it. He popped thru the last bass head within days of getting his double bass pedal. Now the new head will last much longer

These are the best impact pads there are. I use them on my powerstroke 3 heads.(the best kick drum heads) I play a lot and I play really fast. These seem to last forever. I put one on the head in the exact center and forgot about it, by now I see no need to check on it. It hasn't gone anywhere.(a year now) Every drummer should use this.

I had these on my bass drums and the head is over a year old and still not broken. I do alot of double bass drumming so without these patches my drum heads would've been broke a long time ago. THEY WORK! Plus they sound cool on your bass drum. :)

Ive had these patches for about a year and WOW. they look almost exactly the same as when i got them. they have saved me so much money that would have been used to buy extra batter heads for my basses. so you can buy these for 5 bucks or you can replace your heads every 6 months. you cant go wrong

Granted i didnt get mine off the website but i got mine today and this is the most amazing kick pad ever! the durability is incredible my only problem is that it gave my my bass a clicky cheap sound but maybe i could blame that on my crudy pulse attack head (dont buy those heads) but great product it does everything a kick pad should.

I'm kind of dissapointed that Remo reduced the size of these... I had one from a couple years ago that was same material and larger, but seems you can't get that size anymore. Because of the reduced size and reduced allowance for margin of error, I recommend you locate and mount it with your pedal/beater in place... I spent a bunch of time measuring and marking to mount it in the EXACT center of my new bass drum head, and then didn't realize until later that my bass drum pedal/beater is actually offset slightly to the right due to the pedal design, (DOHH!!). Anyways, these protect your head from wear, but they also change the sound slightly, (for the better in my opinion)... i.e. they add a bit more attack and "click" to the sound, (not "super-clicky" mind you... but just a touch more transient attack). A mandatory addition if you play "rock" music and want your batter head to last.

I just got a new Pearl Masters MCX set and it came with this. After I tuned everything I realized my floor tom really rang out. So I thought about it and I said to myself "I use felt beaters and my floor tom needs muffling. I should use that thingy that came with the bass drum." That was the first thing that came to mind and it turned out great. It muffled the sound and it gave it the punch I like.

I had bought these before and the were about 4 to 5 inch around. These are much smaller, only about three inches around.

I should have put one of these on my kick a long time ago . I used the black one on my coated Ambassador Batter . I have only felt strip muffing on both heads and this impact patch was perfect to shorten the note slightly and take out just the right amount of "boom" , while adding a bit more "body" to the tone .

Previous bass drum patch proved to be too thin to last. Applied this one over the top of the former. Will prevent wearing out drum head. Improves mic sound. The two patches are black and white, not an issue.

Overall, worth the money and it does promote longer bass drum batter head life. Just make sure its centered so when it wears you can move the bass drum head to an unused portion of the patch. It does take some of the attack away from the sound. I've used both wood and felt and overall it does a good job and I would recommend it.

The picture clearly shows two white patches and the description states "2 pack", however when I recieved them there was one white and one black. The black one has a smoother surface and gives more of a slap or click, while the white one dampend the sound from my rubber beater a bit. I wanted two white ones and instead I have one white and one black. Now I need to go to my local music store spend more money on another pack so I can have matching pads. UNACCEPTABLE!

Came in black and white, seems to give a more punchy attack. Try with a wooden or plastic beater for some serious thump and click.

These are highly recommended, especially if you have expensive skins. Price kind of sucks but it is worth it in the long run. I love double bass drumming and I have log legs, especially from soccer. So I'm constantly pounding the bass skin. If it weren't for these impact pads, I would be broke.

This was the best buy for the buck on the web. It functions as described. It protects your bass drum head. My only complain the pads used to be bigger. I use several different pedals so you are limited on how you adjust the pedals (they have to hit the same spot.)
