Sweet, rich tone, and no hum from a unique winding technique.
After players heard the Alnico II Pro single-coil models, many asked for that same sweetness in a humbucker version. The only way to get that sound is to use the Alnico II musical magnets with a new coil winding. The result is a warm, sweet tone with more natural string vibration for great sustain. 4-conductor cable.

These are some bad pickups. I've had this Epi Les Paul since I started playing and instead of getting a new guitar I just decided to get better amps as I progressed, but eventually I found I needed some better pickups and with Slash being my idol, and how much I love his tone, I decided to get some Duncan Alnico II's because I was familiar with the tones they gave out. These pickups give out an amazing warm tone. Right now I have both in the neck and bridge, but here's the sweet thing. With these pickups having the 4 wires I went and coil-tapped my bridge pickup and it gives me an amazing blues tone. The difference may not be heard immediately by striking a note and switching back and forth from single to humbucker, but when you're raping your scales up and down the neck you'll definitely notice the difference. In the bridge the tone is great as well. It gives out a good clean and distortion without getting too muddy same as the neck. Great for classic rock, but that does also depend on the amp you have.I wouldn't really recommend these for metal unless you have a lot of pedals and distortion like me because they aren't as hot as most other pickups, but for the style music I play which is classical, blues, and every now and then playing crazy metal in the garage, it does the job very well. Buy these. They're a lil pricey but it's worth it.
I had two of these installed on my Epiphone Sheraton and can't believe the improvement in sound. The Sheraton always had a great mellow jazz tone but playing the Blues on stage with a band, I had a hard time cutting through the mix. With the Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pros I have lost nothing and gained enough high end pop to be heard. The jazzy sound is still there and now is even richer and thicker than before. On the bridge pick up the treble is vibrant and perfect for those Freddie King solos. I have played high end Gibsons but now my Epiphone sounds as good, if not better for a fraction of the price.
I put this baby into the brige position of my gibson les paul classic. OMG! I thought I was hearing slash through my speakers! This thing is the best pickup I have ever used! I'm saving to buy the neck position one. This pickup sounds very good on clean. Perfect for blues. With distortion, this thing kicks a**! This thing does not only produce "Slash" tone, it aslo does jimmy page (zeppelin) and angus young (ac/dc) too. Its very clear and full sounding no matter how high I set my distortion to. I did have to turn up the bass because it is a little on the bright side but who cares?!?! I will die with this pickup in my les paul! thank you seymour for making this pickup!!
This is THE pickup to use if you want to get slash's guitar sound. I have an Epi Les Paul with this pickup in the neck that I play through a mesa boogie rect-o-ver, and the sound is unbelievable. It sounds exaclty like "Sweet Child O' Mine." I couldn't be happier with it. As soon as I save up a little more money, I plan on getting the bridge version of this same pickup.
The best pickup I've ever heard. Does everything from AC/DC, to GNR, to Van Halen. Has a warmer sound, but you can barely tell. Sounds sooooo good in a mahogany body. Well worth your money.
This is a very good pickup. In the neck position it gives you good rythym and smooth, soaring solos full of sustain. Put it in th ebridge and the solo tone is incredible. Combined with my Marshall jubilee series head, les paul classic (equipped with these), and a Slash wah wah pedal i get the appetite through illusion sound perfectly! Get this pickup!
Excellent pickup for blues and classic rock. Perfect for Guns n' Roses songs. Many people undervalue this pickup. Lack of power made up for by excellent tone.
These pickups do not add any color to your guitars tone. The guitars natural tone really shines through. If you have a guitar that sounds bad unplugged and install these, it will sound bad amplified too, but if you have a guitar that sounds great unplugged, it will sound great plugged in. Another thing is that if your amp isnt very good, these pickups wont make a difference either. hope this review helps potential buyers
