    Vintage Rails

    About Me Experienced

Comments about Seymour Duncan SVR-1 Vintage Rails Guitar Pickup:

These are great pickups. I have a USA Custom Guitar hollow strat body and neck I wanted something quiet but versatile, without pole pieces. These are the answer: I put a full set in, with Torres Electrics 'mothertone' midrange switching (initially hard to master, but with VRails as good as having a humbucker when you want full sustaining grown and breakup) and the result: a Layla slide monster. Played through a princeton, it is dark, warm and powerful, but I can just pull back on the gain and get great clean strat notch sounds for rhythm. Very surprised at how these pickups don't just duplicate traditional start sound, they bring a clean, warm hum/duckbucker sound that's ideal for slide.

    Great PUPs

    By jfender

Comments about Seymour Duncan SVR-1 Vintage Rails Guitar Pickup:

I had an American Stat Fender Deluxe with noiseless picks. I replaced the original pups with an SVR-1 in the Bridge and Middle positions with a Cool rail in the neck. This was the best purchase I've ever made of any kind. I love these pups and the sound improvement is absolutely great. Better sound has made me a better player and really opened the guitar up.

Comments about Seymour Duncan SVR-1 Vintage Rails Guitar Pickup:

I got this set into a strat between a tele-style stk (neck) and a hot rails (bridge) so that I could get a very vintage and bluesy feel to my tone. Jackpot plus some.Yes, this thing has all of the quck like the duckbucker. Yes, this thing works well with clean and high gain pickups and balances out extremly well in the notch positions. But let me also note that this thing can get very THICK on tone too. Great for undertones/mixing and perfect for single handling everything short of metal. But this thing is also incredible for booming rythms too. Adds soooo much substance to the glassy tones of my stk in my neck and has an incredible punch when mixed with my hot rails. If anything, I definitely feel like this is the pickup that sets my strat aprt from the rest. This thing is full of personality.

    Great Sounding Pickup!

Comments about Seymour Duncan SVR-1 Vintage Rails Guitar Pickup:

This is an excellent sounding pickup! The tone is really amazing: very distinctive, clean with that wonderful 'duck-bucking' sound. I have it in the neck position with JB in the bridge. Vintage Rails is not as loud as my SH-4 JB but this is easily worked around since the sound the Vintage Rails produced is soo sweet.

Comments about Seymour Duncan SVR-1 Vintage Rails Guitar Pickup:

As the owner of two Fender American Standards, I was looking for pickups with a bit more output to them. My guitar tech reccomended them in the neck and middle positions with the addition of Hot Rails in the bridge position . In the # 2 & 4 positions you really get that famous quack. In the bridge position the Hot Rails give you a dynamic range of sound . Lots and lots of guts without any of the typical hum and noise. I could not be more pleased.

Review of SVR-1 Vintage Rails Guitar Pickup

Comments about Seymour Duncan SVR-1 Vintage Rails Guitar Pickup:

RE: Seymour Duncan Vintage Rail (middle) - I play a HSS Godin Velocity thru a Fender HRD w/Eminence Redcoat speaker and Yellow jackets. I hate the hum from single coil pickups so I was looking for a quiet middle pickup with not alot of output so as to get a good "quack" out of the 2 and 4 positions. I considered a Duckbucker but something about the "vintage" description steered me toward the Vintage Rail. I am absolutely satisfied with my decision. It has a great tone on it's own (I don't know vintage from not-vintage) - good for chording and solo as well. Good clear sound with alot of nuances - competes well with the bridge HB - quiet - good quack from both positions. I would put this PU in any guitar in the future.
Well built - easy to install - great "vintage" sound - Quiet
Typical Duncan quality workmanship - very good - great sound
It's the going rate for pickups - the price is worth the sound

Comments about Seymour Duncan SVR-1 Vintage Rails Guitar Pickup:

This pickup is one of the best ive heard as far as strat pickups go! I have a cheapy Squier Stratocaster, and when I put this baby in the middle with the Hot Rails in the bridge, all I can say is WOW!!!!!!! Only problem is that the hot rails is very high output, so dont count on being able to switch beetween pickups in the middle of a performance. Its almost like going from a 10 to an 8 in volume when you switch beetween the hot rails and the vintage rails. Nevertheless, this pickup is awesome. good clean tones (though they are way thicker than the singles on most strats) and distorted tones that would peel the skin of your bones with the right pedal!

    Great tone

    By chiolas

Comments about Seymour Duncan SVR-1 Vintage Rails Guitar Pickup:

this pickup really provides a great straty tone. It's awesome. I've always been a 2 humbucker guy, when I first bought the PRS Swamp Ash Special, that pickup really annoyed me a lot because it's placed right in the place where I pick the strings. Now that I'm used to it, I really use it a lot mostly when I want to play something with a strat tone.

Comments about Seymour Duncan SVR-1 Vintage Rails Guitar Pickup:

i have a custom Fender Strat that my uncle built with this pickup in the neck position. The way it is set up i have an individual toggle switch for each pickup, allowing for different combinations of pickups, therefore different tones. I never have a combination without this pickup, i absolutely love it. Put two in the middle and bridge positions and you will have a genuine vintage strat sound.

Comments about Seymour Duncan SVR-1 Vintage Rails Guitar Pickup:

I first tried the "noiseless" Fender pickups (for Strat.)-wanting to go back to a vintage set-up without the 60cy. hum. The set I put in were far from "noiseless", and I finally gave up on them and went with a pickup I knew would be "quiet"-I was not disappointed. The combination of one bridge pickup and two neck pickups is a good one for a true "vintage" sound. If you want more "beef" in your sound, do not get this version-you will need to go with (at least) the "Hot Rails"-or hotter. These pickups look REALLY cool in the guitar, as well!

i have the svr-1 on a strat 2 strat style guitars. i play blues muddy to stevie. it sounds great clean. very clear and with lots of range from high to low. through a boss bd-2 it sound great. just warm oozing tones. i will probably do much more but this is what i play. you would never guess it is a humbucker. much better than the little 59. i have it in the neck positon on both guitars.
