This is a very well made case. The hinge and latches are beyond any I have seen in 30+ years as a drummer. I pack mine so full I have to ride it closed! Bump it down flights of stairs no problem. It holds so much stuff it gets a little too heavy! It is somewhat pricey, but if you value your stuff as much as I do mine, it is worth it. This is one case you will always have.
I've been using one of these to haul a kit's worth of hardware around for about 5 years now. Shortly after I started using it, one of the plastic handles broke. A couple weeks later, the other handle broke essentially rendering this case useless. I stopped at my local hardware store and picked up a couple heavy duty metal handles and some flat iron stock. I drilled the neccessary holes, bolted the handle on the outside and flat bar on the inside and now it's pretty much indestructable.
I've had my case for about 5 years. I travel a lot (I work for a national tv news program) and use this case to transport my tripod and lighting stands.I wish there was a way to attach a TSA lock to the case. I can't use the included latches/lock, due to the TSA always wanting to open the case when I fly.On my last trip, the airline managed to break off about half of the long hinge. I had to use a lot of gaffer's tape to secure the case closed. I'm hoping that the hinge is included in the otherwise great warranty!
I have owned one of these for over 10 years and it has never failed me. Fully loaded with my Sonor stands it weighs in at over 100 pounds! It holds more than I can lift. I am seriously considering purchasing another to break up the load.
