Don't waste your time or $

Comments about TAMA Memory Lock:

I tried these memory locks for the newer Tama boom stands. Big mistake. Tama wasn't looking forward when they designed their stands because there's nothing for these to lock into, ala DW or Gibraltar's. You'd be better off buying another brand's stands whose memory locks actually lock into something.

Comments about TAMA Memory Lock:

When I called & spoke with the rep I asked for a memory clamp I could use on the legs of my Gretsch floor toms. The photograph gives the impression that the clamps are flat when they're actually curved, & while they are functional & they do secure the position of the tom legs, it's visually obvious that it's jury rigged.

            Comments about TAMA Memory Lock:

Everyone knows what these are for, so I needn't say much. But I will add that the curve of the body of these locks meshes great with every cymbal stand I have. And because the sides swing open from each other, these locks can accommodate a longer screw (which you can get at any hardware store) for those stand arms that are too thick for this size.

For the price, these are awesome, and I LOVE just snapping my stuff together, preset. These really help!

            A rather odd piece

              Comments about TAMA Memory Lock:

This piece is quite heavy and well made, but has a very odd shape. It looks like it was designed for some proprietary Tama purpose, and not meant to be used as a general-use memory lock.

The top surface is convex, and the bottom surface is concave. It appears designed to sit over a rod or rail roughly 2cm (about 3/4 inch) in diameter, holding a 10mm rod vertically through the center. A problem with this in many circumstances will be the piece's bulk and vertical extent: it's about 2cm top to bottom. This height interfered with using it for the purpose I had intended.

Also, the rounded top surface will not provide positive location for many mountable instruments.
