OVERVIEW

An ergonomic slide for all types of players.

The Original Rock Slide is the premier guitar slide. In 1999, The Rock Slide invented the first ergonomic slide that has been favored by professional acoustic and electric players ever since. The signature is its tapered interior design, which fits like a glove. Other features include the knuckle cutaway for finger flexibility and the dished finger rest for perfect control and vibrato. Polished brass offers the smoothness of chrome with the thick tone of brass.

Small Rock Slides are the sports car of the slide world, very lightweight and extremely fast. Ideal for the guitarist who needs to play chords but wants to throw in pinky slide chops. It also works well on the ring finger of many women.

Medium Rock Slides are a perfect weight for most styles, heavy enough for long sustain on acoustic guitars, but light enough to easily control for fast electric playing.

Large Rock Slides are one of the heaviest on the scene. This makes for killer sustain on the thickest of string gauges and a down-right dark sound.

These are the best slides I've ever played, and I would venture to say they're the best on the market. I own quite a few models from The Rock Slide company--the original polished brass, the ball-tip brass, the stainless steel, and the glass--all in the large size. I recently found a few "discount basket deals" on the Rock Slide website and saw a "slightly under-sized large glass slide" and grabbed it pronto. It fits PERFECTLY on my finger--just a bit more snug than the standard large and it happens to be perfect for me. These slides are just phenomenal. The ergonomic cuts in the slides are as comfortable and practical as it gets, and they just have great tone to them. Lots of mass in each slide, so sustain is no problem at all. I use brass on my dobro and mostly use glass on my electric (but sometimes switch to the stainless steel). Hands down my favorites out there.

The product is well made, functional and appropriate for its purpose, but sizing is not accurate. There was no way to anticipate that the slide was going to be as small as it was. I don't have fat fingers, but the sizing seems to be smaller than what you would anticipate. Buy the size larger.

Comments about The Rock Slide Brass Rock Slide Guitar Slides:

After years of messing around with slide playing, I finally got serious about it. What I found in my playing was: chrome slides are too bright; glass slides sound smooth but I have trouble making them sustain a note; full-sized slides prevent me from using my other three fingers (since I play in standard tuning). This pinky-sized brass slide really opened the door for me: it's heavy enough to rest comfortably on the strings, it gets a fat sound without the clanging noises I get with the chromed slides, and I can leave it on my pinky and still use the other fingers. Suddenly the lights came on for me and my slide playing sounds like I'm playing slide (rather than sounding like I stepped on a cat's tail). I lost the last one at a club gig recently and immediately ordered two more. It's that good.

Comments about The Rock Slide Brass Rock Slide Guitar Slides:

I always wanted to experiment with one of these giant slides and finally decided to just do it. Its huge and builds up momentum of its own. That can make it seem faster than it is because you're just going along for the ride or it can slow you down if you're note / chord changes are not in the same direction. Fit and finish were perfect. And since these are made in the USA you can really enjoy playing them feeling good.

I've tried several slides but even though they were marked "Small," they were too big to fit my little finger. This one fits perfectly. The added cutout makes it very comfortable and easy to control. Up to now, the smallest slide I tried was marked size 8, so I suspect tis might be a 7 or 6.5.

I also bought a D'Addario Planet Waves small glass slide and that fits me pretty well also, although it's a little bigger than the Rock slide. I'll be switching between them to decide which sound I like better

Works great with everything from my National Tricone to cheap Regal Biscuit cone. The cutaway makes for a much more relaxed hand position. Greatly improves tone overall compared to other brass, copper and glasses slides.

I recently lost my all time favorite brass slide and can't find the same kind. The Rock Slide is the closest thing I've found. I really like the contoured end. I wish it were slightly heavier, but I can definitely use this and will probably get a few more to have on hand.

This slide is great. I use the small. I love pinky sliders. The cuts on the slide add to the comfort. The sustain is not as much as a chrome plated slide but it gives that blues slightly scratchy sound. but it has a smooth feel (Not like glass. but glass breaks). If you use pinky slides or want to try one get it. I have a collection of pinky slides. This one is the best.
