Comments about Thomastik EB345 Medium-Light Power Bass Roundwound 5-String Bass Strings:

Finally replaced my dead strings on my Modulus FB5! I read the reviews on the Thomastik's and they were pretty good. I strung it up and plunked around a bit, and they sound amazing! They really pach a serious punch!

Here is a quick sample:
https://soundcloud.com/solusauxilium/thomastik-infeld-eb345

One thing I don't like is that the low B is wound tighter than the E... mainly it's a feel thing, I am used to the old strings where the low B's nickel winding is fatter than the E. Also, the Thomastik B is a bit muddy. The E/A/D/G are all bright and SUPER punchy! I haven't played through the amp yet, just direct in. I will update you if my opinion on the B changes.

Comments about Thomastik EB345 Medium-Light Power Bass Roundwound 5-String Bass Strings:

My experiance has led me to try just about every string available for bass in the last 30 years. These are by far the finest strings made for bass since the bass itself was invented. Worth their weight in gold. Long lasting, piano/bell like tones, crisp highs and damaging lows. Awesome product.

Amazing Strings

Comments about Thomastik EB345 Medium-Light Power Bass Roundwound 5-String Bass Strings:

These string's are the best, they are soft on the fret's and smooth on the fingers, they have a very balanced sound, with warm mids, aweful tops, and moderate punchy low's. Ideal for any kind of music.

Comments about Thomastik EB345 Medium-Light Power Bass Roundwound 5-String Bass Strings:

I echo the other reviewer about the tone of the B string on a Modulus FB5. It's not that it's a bad tone, it's just different in comparison to the other strings. Where the others are raw power and clarity, it almost goes to a flat or half wound sound with just a little more projection. Again, not a bad tone, only different. I actually like the thinner gauge (.119) and it has a very smooth feel. To hear these strings in a live setting I suggest listening to the Central Park Concert album by Dave Matthews Band. Stefan Lessard uses them on his Modulus FB4 and FB5 and the tone is spot on when used on the same bass. String life is still to be determined, but I am habitual about washing my hands and wiping the strings down before and after every use. That has helped to extend the life of other brands and I can't imagine it won't help these too.

Comments about Thomastik EB345 Medium-Light Power Bass Roundwound 5-String Bass Strings:

Great power (just more energy). They are on the brighter side of tone. So if your looking for old school round bass, with heavy bottom, these are not your strings. If you want bright snappy tone, with excellent articulation, and solid bass these are a great option. Super fast response, and dynamic range; from slap to finger style the response is fantastic. For some songs that need that smoother old-school tone, I find playing near the neck pick-up provides what I'm looking for.
Somewhat stiffer than what I'm used to (DR's), but for the sound; Hi-Fi tone, great growl, and clear articulation it worth keeping them on for a few more shows.
        - During live performance the bass sits we'll; grooves, licks, runs ring clear and true (as well as any mistakes, so be ready)

Comments about Thomastik EB345 Medium-Light Power Bass Roundwound 5-String Bass Strings:

These strings are by far the finest bass guitar strings made. Clear, punchy and crystal like tones with deep undertones. I use these on a warwick thumb 5. I used rotosound for 25 years, but found a new string for all my basses.
