Overview

Provides a true low register quality without a 'poofy' attack sound.

Soft (but not very soft); what Jeff considers a moderate sostenuto. Projects a rich fundamental and wonderful sustain. Although it has a lot of mass, it is not cumbersome and quite manageable in 4-mallet roll passages. In an outdoor setting, this mallet has enough weight to create voluminous warmth, yet with the correct touch it provides good definition for moving lines up to A3.
