Comments about Behringer Heavy Distortion HD300 Guitar Effects Pedal:

The pedal its based on (a BOUSS pedal) is garbage, this knock off version of it is superior in several ways. With the 'real deal' you get a bland one dimensional new metal tone, but with this, you can get loud thunderous 80's metal tone, crunch and almost a clean tone boost. Recommend it if you're on a budget

Comments about Behringer Heavy Distortion HD300 Guitar Effects Pedal:

I'm shaking my head because I should have known you get what you pay for...
Very amateurish pedal.... When pushing the gain and level knobs to their limits the unit just goes haywire with undefined distortion..... The best thing this pedal could be used for is to give you a punch in volume....and even then you have to worry about it squealing. high distortion setting at a low volume setting sounds below par and actually this setting would actually bring your volume level down lower than using the true bypass with your guitars untouched signal..... Not good in conjunction with other effects pedals in a pedal board setup.... this should be used as a stand alone unit.

I use it on a 50 watt plexi and my DSL 100 on the clean channel (green)..
Great sustain ! You can't beat it for the price ! I'd put it up against any one of the big name brands !

Comments about Behringer Heavy Distortion HD300 Guitar Effects Pedal:

I bought this pedal so I could record without driving my family nuts with volume. I first plugged into a Mesa Dual Rectifier on channel 1 and a Marshall cab and it sounded nearly as good as the distortion Mesa gives normally. However using it directly plugged into my Tascam recorder it was lacking some. Not enough however to discontinue using it for recording.
