This pedal is an incredibly affordable solid EQ. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a 7-band EQ, regardless of their budget. It will accomplish anything that more expensive EQs will. Even though it's plastic, it's pretty sturdy--mine's never given me a hint of trouble. The bottom line is that you need this pedal. It's great for shaping your sound, and there's no financial risk.

This has been on my pedal board for about 5 years, I use it as a clean boost. The sliders all work fine, it's not noisy, the frequency bands are just right, if set flat there is no real audible difference between bypass/on. I'm impressed. My only real gripe is everytime I stepped on the footswitch my toe moved the sliders... so I drilled a small hole in the footswitch button (it's steel, how funny!) & screwed a strap-button into it. Now it sticks up like my other pedals. This thing has been great, & still is. Cool cheap clean boost for any instrument.

I wanted to make sure an equalization pedal would tame an unruly amp with too much mid to low freq. before I dropped a bunch a cash on a high priced one. Wow, what a difference this pedal made. I read some reviews about this being noisy, not a problem. I think I'll save my money and buy some more danelectro pedals.

Got this instead of the more expensive EQ's (Boss,MXR,ETC) to see if an EQ would work for my application...and it does! I'm using it in front of my amp as a volume/mid boost for leads and it's really helped my get more "cut" on a noisy stage. When used this way (in front, not through an effects loop) it also adds some gain but also some hiss...but not really any more than some amp's gain stages when they're run "hot"...so it doesn't bother me. You sure don't notice it in a live situation when you're just kicking it on for leads. I did take some "sticky tack" and kind of wrapped it around the sliders to keep from kicking it out of whack when I step on it...looks awful but it works!

I worry a bit about the build of the thing but so far no problems! If it does fail on me, I'm not sure I'd upgrade or just get another one of these...we'll see I guess!

I own a Peavey 5150 2x12 combo amp and I was looking for something to shape my sound and control unwanted noise. I had a credit on my MF account and this pedal was really inexpensive so I figured why not give it a shot. I had a few buddies tell me they used this pedal and it more than did the trick for them and I read some good reviews as well so I was willing to take the risk. My first impression of this pedal was the casing was just hard plastic, but two thing that went through my mind with that was you get what you pay for so for it's price I can't complain and I'm only using this pedal through my effects loops so it's not likely to fall and break where I have it placed and even it if did at least I didn't pay a lot. Since it's places on top of the amp with a carpet floor and it did fall once because I bumped it no damage at all occurred so it was sturdier than I though it would be. This pedal also came with a battery as well which was cool, I didn't have to run to the store and buy one which was nice because I could get right to the music. It also does have a AC adaptor as well which is another nice touch so you don't have to replace batteries a lot, I do recommend unplugging this pedal every time you're not using it. Even though it may be turned off if the cords are plugged in it still can drain the battery just as these same cords drain batteries from active guitars as well. The controls were a little firm feeling and a tad hard to move, but still workable. The bypass buttom was kind of dull feeling, but again at least workable. The sound it added I'd say is good, but not excellent. Again for the price you pay I'd say excellent if that factor is added in. I know of some amp pedals can be a hit or miss because certain amps can be funny how they respond to some pedals, but this pedal works great through my Peavey 5150 combo and even better through the effects loop. I originally got this pedal to shape my tone and to clean up some unwanted noise, but this pedal I later realized is also great signal booster. When I ran this pedal through my chunch channel on my amp and enagad this pedal I was able to achieve an actually good heavy metal tone which I would of normally had to get an overdrive pedal to do. After realizing that I'm going to get a second one for that purpose, it's a heck of a lot cheaper than buying a Ibanez TS or a Boss DS-1 and I think it works better too(but that's only my opinion and others may disagree). I think you could possible use this for live gigs, but I'd try it at practice first to see if it holds up and you may want to buy a spare one in case it breaks, but for money you pay I don't see that being a problem.

I have had this pedal for years. I can't remember how long. I perform 2-3 times a week every week and this pedal is always with me. I have used it in bar during snowy winters (meaning, possibly using it with wet shoes) to dry hot outside beach parties. It's still working and, working well. I use it for a lead boost only and have gotten some very sweet smooth sounds out of the eq and by raising the overall output, got some mean clean sounds. I use this for both full rock band shows and acoustic.

I'm kind of looking for another eq that looks and feels a little beefier because this one feels cheap and dinky but, I did misplace it for a bit and panicked. I've even thought about buying a backup just incase it finally goes. I've had newer pedals that seem to be built way better that have died on me. This little guy keeps on going.

If your using the AC adapter, make sure you get a proper adapter. It does not take a lot to power this pedal. I've powered mine at 200 m/a for the longest time and it's still going.

This is a great eq pedal. I use it in front of a OS-2 Boss pedal and really cleans up the mud. I also use it on my Line 6 modeling acoustic guitar for more tone shaping ability. It's quiet, clean, and great. Some eq's go for a lot more and can be noisy. The only worry is the plastic construction and hard to activate button. I use it all the time and don't have a need to turn it on and off, so it's not a problem for me.

After two years of use, the Fish and Chips does it's job perfectly in a bypassed loop when it is on all of the time. The boost allows me to pre-adjust volume when switching loops during a song. Seems like a must have pedal in a bypassed loop IMO. It allows me to switch from a clean loop to a dirty loop with no volume change and at the same time, shape my bypassed tone. I'm proud (and seems cool) to have this cheap pedal alongside my big pricey stompboxes. I actually needed the boost function, since my main loop's MXR EQ does not have it. It has a small footprint to keep your pedal board free for other effects too. Danelectro rocks! Later, I actually bought a Danelectro BLT Analog Echo to add onto the end of my bypassed loop for ambience that is on all of the time as well. I now have an awesome bypass loop for less than one night out on the town. Does life get any better?!
Not true bypass, but with a boost lever, it is almost as good as it gets! I only wish I didn't have to push the button on when I power up my pedal board.
It is fine on a bypassed loop and never gets stomped on, but no way could I trust these pedals for everyday stompin'. The cheap foot swtch, housing, knobs all seem very fragile. As long as my foot never touches the pedal, Im okay with it.
For bypasssed loops, it's the best deal going!

I bought this to try to improve my guitar tone. It's awesome, but it has some flaws. First off, the output and input jacks are on the top, which isn't a huge deal, but it's an annoyance when you're connecting others pedals to it that have it on the side. Also, the switch to activate the pedal is a joke. It doesn't even click, and it's virtually impossible switch it on and off while playing. Another bad thing, it adds a lot of hum, so if you don't have a noise suppressor, you're in for some serious noise. Even with these problems, this pedal is totally worth it. You can add a ton of depth to shape your distorted or clean tones. Get it, you won't be disappointed

I only intended only to use this with one guitar that sounded weird with one of my amps. It made the pair sound great together. I am happily suprised how good this is. I think I will use it to tweak my bypassed loops.
Exactly what was expected.
Quiet with the settings I use. If you try you can get a small amout of noise out of it, but minor compared to any other good pedal. Solid weight feel for being plastic. I wish they used nuts as a strain relief on the input/outputs. On/Off button is weird but it will alway be on in the chain or bypassed loop.
This would sell for 3x more in a metal box.

Awesome pedal; sounds good, inexpensive, can afford to have a few if need be.
This is a very useful little pedal. I've had mine for about ten years now. I just recently started using it again. I put it at the end of my signal chain to add a nice mid boost. It also works good after my tremolo pedal that seems to cut my volume quite a bit. The construction is on par with the price. With the exception of the a/c adapter input being a little loose it has held up pretty good.

I have read good reviews and so I took a chance. It worked great initially but due its small size there was a tendency to accidentally push the faders up when pressing the foot switch.But after dozens of rehearsals and gigs the foot switch has become very intermittent and the jacks have become a bit suspect too.

This pedal really surprised me. Got this to "rebuild" my pedal arsenal. (Hit some hard times and had to sell most of my pedal collection). On the old pedal board, my EQ was a hot-rodded Boss GE-7, which I planned to get at a later time. But in the meantime, I needed a "stop-gap" to get me through. Couldn't lose on the price, so I gave this one a try. It definitely delivered the goods! Better sounding than expected! Have some concerns about it being plastic, but so far, has held up well. Seems like it's better built than most other "entry-level" pedals. And yes, get a power supply.....it eats up batteries quicker than expected.

I love retro stuff and Danelectro is all about retro..was excited about getting this..it was cheap and had good reviews. The first 2 weeks it was great..then it started getting very noisy. Then the high pitch squeals started..at gigs of course. Had to remove it from my set-up. It would probably work fine for home use...I wouldn't play shows with it.. replaced it with an old school MXR model.

Great in a pinch for an acoustic pedalboard. Perfect secret weapon for gigs when the Amp isn't enough or you play through a PA. It's a little buzzy but it is what it is.

I like this pedal, it was inexpensive so I gambled. I'm glad I did. It adds needed treble to my lead channel and acts like a booster for my clean channel. I like it, looks cool too.

.It seems to work but I bought it to learn tweaking my sound.I hope it will work well for that and I have no indication it will not. I might get it out of it's case and mount it an my own frankestrat project guitar
