I purchased this amp as a Christmas present for my daughter. When I first opened the box, I thought that I had made a mistake and should have purchased a more expensive amp. The covering is a cheap looking and feeling vinyl - definitely not the rugged exterior of say, a Peavey. Then I noticed that the closed back was stapled on - oh no. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised when I plugged it in. A wide range of overdrive tones can be dialed in using the gain and volume controls, plus it sounds pretty good clean, too. All EQ settings are responsive. All controls are quiet - no scratchiness. This amp can crank plenty loud for a practice amp!I can now see that Drive cut corners on appearance to deliver a quality practice amp at an inexpensive price. For what I paid, I feel that I definitely got my money's worth! This would make someone a great practice amp, and is small enough to be portable. If the vinyl wears off, just cover it with some black duct tape :-)

great for the money!!!

By washbernelite

I bought this amp because of the price , and I was amazed by the loudness of this tiny amp. It isnt the best amp in the world but for the money I have to say that it is. The amount of gain on this amp is outstanding. For the money I would recommend this amp for beginners or just as a practice amp . This amp is well worth the money.

The perfect budget amp.

By Sum_41_fan

I was really pleased the first time I played my guitar on CD100. Most of my friends said not to buy it becuase it was too cheap. But don't let the price fool you. You can crank the thing more than loud enough out of a practice amp and the sound stays very clean. Definitely the best amp for a starter.

My kid loves it! For the money it's the perfect amp! Good solid pots, and well built with a decent speaker! It does the job it's intended for, which is practicing. Works well with effects to.

Beginners...buy this amp.

This amp is great for beginners or just practice around the house (which is probably a good thing since that is what it was made for). I had it when I first got started and it was perfect then. I later got a Marshall, and I gave my Drive amp to my friend (since he was just starting). If you are a beginner and are looking for a cheap, usable, good amp; or you want to get one for your kid but you know he'll loose interest pretty soon, buy this (for the price it can't be beat). But, be forewarned, if you are interested in continued playing, you will want to upgrade!

Decent Amp for the Price

By fwser

What else can one expect for this cheap? Not alot of features (gain, volume, treble, middle, bass; headphone jack). A good amp if you're strapped for space/cash.

Only for beginners

By Anonymous

This amp is ok if you like crap. Has soon as you turn up the gain it sounds like hell. The tune sounds so dull and die. I can't even play this thing any more because of the sound. So now I'm saving up for a marshall half-stack. Going cheap for a is not the you want to go. The guitar is has good has the amp.

lots of bang for your buck.

cheaper than used pawnshop junk amps, and works fine. if you're new or playing as a hobby, save the money for lessons, not a brand name.

Looking for a cheap durable amp??? Here's the spot. Dropped it a few times and took a hit during a car wreck but still sounds fine. It's hard to find the right sound but anything with a lot of volume and gain sounds great.

Cheap and effective!

By triwpire

A great practice amp at an affordable price. No frills, just substance. Not sure how long it will last though, as after just a few months, the contact metal broke loose in the input jack on mine, and needs to be slipped back in every time I remove the jack.

this little amp is good for the price you pay for it. it is good for travel. with low gain, the amp sounds tinny though. basically it is only good as a dirty amp. i'd save the cash and get a fender frontman or a marshall 15 watt. but of course those are 3X the cost.

Drive amp

By ~guitarking~

from APO, AP

It's okay to start with, I guess, but once you start getting good, you'll realize it's a piece of junk, and want something better. It sounds pretty bad clean, so you'll have to crank up the gain to get an okay sound. It's good to start with, and good for the money, but otherwise a crappy amp. So if you have the extra money, go for something better.

I bought this amp cause i'm on a budget. It sounds good clean or with distortion. You don't have to turn the distortion up very much at all for to give out some awsome punch. Sounds nice warm with my Samick Avion. Perfect for starters and experienced players alike.

Drive CD100 guitar amp

Practice amp? This little amp has what you need to just sit back and jam a little. Gain, volume, treble, middle, and bass controls will take you from very clean (not too loud) to full distortion (cover your ears!). All this for a price that cannot be beat. Stop hanging around guitar stores and get something to stay home and practice with!

Great amp for the price

This amp is PERFECT for beginners. I have a Rogue Bass and it sounds great with this amp. I've had it for about a year now and it hasn't failed me, and it hasn't shown any signs that it will! Buy it. Great deal!

Good Dirty Amp

By tomass

Awesome amp for getting started. The distortion is decent, and more importantly loud. Playing clean blows, you have to add about a quater gain if you want it to be heard.
