That’s where the EP103 Echoplex Delay comes in. It’s the size of a Phase 90, and it delivers the EP-3’s legendary tones with a simple control interface and a hi-fi all-analog dry path. The Delay control sets the time between repeats—from 4 to 750ms—the Sustain control sets the number of repeats, and the Volume control sets the output level of your repeats. Where the sound of this pedal really shines, though, is in Age mode.
By default, your pedal performs as a perfectly-calibrated, factory-fresh tape echo machine would— bright and clear tape with subtle wow and flutter modulation. A quick push of the Volume knob lets you “age” the sound of your repeats, darkening the tone, upping the tape saturation (distortion), and increasing modulation and tape distress as you turn the knob clockwise.
The Echoplex Delay also features tap tempo functionality, for up to 4 seconds of delay time, when you hook up an M199 MXR Tap Tempo Switch. The dry path is all analog with Constant Headroom Technology—providing a full 20 volts of headroom—and a choice of true relay or trails bypass. The EP103 can be set for 100% wet mode along with stereo input and output modes. No tape cartridges required.

Warm, organic modulation with a sweet musical voice.
The Echoplex EP-3 tape echo unit is famous for its deliciously warm, organic modulation and sweet musical voice—a key component to some of the most iconic guitar tones from the ’60s and ’70s. The original EP-3 units, however, are expensive, temperamental, and larger than a VCR.

Comments about Dunlop Echoplex Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:
I've been using stomp boxes for years to try to reproduce the delay effect that I originally got from my analog Echoplex. Unfortunately, none of them were able to reproduce the sound that was recorded on Fazon, the first song on our second album (Sopwith Camel, The Miraculous Hump Returns From The Moon). But this device does the trick! It reproduces it exactly!

Comments about Dunlop Echoplex Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:
I had been waiting to get this pedal for a while. I replaced an MXR carbon copy with this pedal. I have to say that I like the echoplex delay better. It is more versatile than the carbon copy, especially with the tap tempo pedal attached. One can achieve a wide array of delay times when using the tap tempo pedal in conjunction with the echoplex. I also have it on my board after the echoplex preamp, and they sound awesome together!
The aging feature is another thing that completely surprised me. I didn't think it would make a big difference in tone, I kinda thought it was just another gimmick, but it is a feature that I love to use. It does create a huge difference in tonality. Want to get psychedelic? Get a little riff going and start turning the three knobs on this guy and you will be rewarded with an infinite sonic landscape. I seriously spent hours just hammering notes and turning knobs. I shouldn't have waited so long to get this pedal, but now that I have it, I will never part with it. By itself, the echoplex delay is a great pedal, but when the echoplex preamp, delay, and tap tempo are used together, they sound better than any other delay that I have ever used.

Comments about Dunlop Echoplex Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:
Very simple to use. Comes with power supply!! If you're looking for an echoplex but not the big old unit, this is it! Add it with the ep pre pedal great fat sound that cuts through just about anything! Great sound either in efx loop or in front of amp. If you go in front then you have to watch how much you give it as with any delay.

Comments about Dunlop Echoplex Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:
I use this with a bunch of high gain, fuzz pedals. I run it through a high gain setup basically, and this echoplex does not, I repeat does not, alter your tone which is a rarity with delays!! It does not get muddy either it's really mind blowing. It doesn't get lost in the mix unless you have everything cranked. Super versatile with the whole age option. Just buy it I promise the extra 50 you spend to get this over the carbon copy will be the best decision you make for your pedalboard
