Pretty Wild!!!

Ask me a question

This Baby, when paired up with an MI Audio Crunch Box, a Fulltone Octafuzz and a Strat, of course, it's one wild best. I got it used, saved about US$ 40.00, but even at this site price it's a good bang for the buck, the other Uni Vibe's Clones are approaching US$ 300.00. I did notice some tone sucking and I am not too sure about mixing it with my wah. I guess I need to do some more experimentation. Having said that, you get a healthy dose of Bridge of Sighs and Machine Gun with this baby. Another thing to notice, I know that you've heard before that a particular pedal is built like a tank, it's almost like a cliche...Well this is REALLY built like a tank, this enclousure should outlast you with very little problems. I also suspect it can take a .45 caliber with no issues.

Not bad but not excellent

By Bassman-Q-PuU

It's certainly not a leslie, but you don't have to carry the leslie either. I do like the fact that you can vary the speed with the pedal. I found the on off switch hard to hit. If you used while standing, the led light would be visible, but I am a keyboard player and as a result can't see the light so to speak.

Cool pedal, limited use

By Grooveman26

A lush sounding effect with the speed being controlled by the treadle. The biggest problem with that being said is that if you want to have a slow rotary sound, you have to click on the pedal (toe down/fastest position) so you start really quickly, then you turn it off by stomping the pedal down again. So your speed goes insane as you turn it off. Not worth the money if you can't use it often (like me)

Instrument AWAKEN!!

By Caveman-_qa7v

from NC

I'm the type that wants to get the most out of my gear and I've used this on everything from mixing consoles, to bass and it sounds wonderful for that swirling speaker effect on anything! Vibrato sounds good if you can't do with your voice, so useful. Worth every penny.

rotovibe

By JOE DAVIS-fFsLB

from kannapolis nc

jim dunlop pedals are the strongest most durable pedals made. the rotovibe sounds like hendrix more because through a marshall it doesnt change the tone. The vibrato is that of the old harmony amps that have the john forgerty feel, and the rotovibe is clearly all day long jimmy hendrix..love the pedal, and original crybaby pedal is awesome too.

Quality modulation

By Jon Banta

from Lawrence, KS

See all my reviews

Okay okay I admit it--I got this because of Zakk Wylde. But nonetheless, the level of control you get with this is incredible. The chorus is the most useful for me and setting it to a minimal sweep speed with clean comping produces a nice modulation effect. Raising the speed produces dramatic effects on sustained notes. This really has to be played for awhile with to get the full benefit, but its contribution to overall character in a tone cannot be overstated.

It is one of dunlop's best pedals and it can do so much. It's necessary if you want Zakk's tone which is:Gibson Les paul-Boss Chorus Ensemble-Boss Super Overdrive or MXR Wylde Overdrive-Dunlop Rotovibe-Dunlop Hendrix Wah-Marshall Amp

good pedal

By ReverseDelayDaily888

This pedal is good or a rotary speaker effect, but its not very versitile, because it has only one knob for adjustment, besides speed. I would Highly recommend the Voodoo Lab micorvibe pedal for Hendrix fans, because this pedal isnt as shapable as the microvibe. This pedal is good for most stuff, but I'm still going to trade it in for a microvibe.

Great vibe for a good price

This pedal is amazing! Best vibe I've ever heard to be honest. I wanted to get the rotosphere or univibe but this pedal, even after I moded it, nails the sounds I want...especially for Little Wing by Hendrix. Highly recommend this!

Rotosauraus Rex

This is one seriously cool pedal. The vibe setting is the warmest that I've experienced (I have several other "uni-v" knock-offs). You can speed it up or slow it down on the fly...which is very useful if you play music with a lot of tempo changes. The chorus setting is nice too...with a smoothly modulated tone that adds just a nice bit of "fat" to your sound. I highly recommend this pedal to anyone tired of the tinny sounding knock-offs. This one is the ginchiest, baby!

I can't believe I have finally found the one! After endless searches I've got the Hendrix tone. All you have to do is get a Vox AC-30, a standard strat, and hook this baby up with a MXR Blue Box and your ready for Purple Haze.

Best pedal in my arsenal!!

By Wylde-Man

from Manchester, England

See all my reviews

The Rotovibe is an absolute God-send! Best pedal I ever bought; I bought it because Zakk Wylde uses it, and so did Jimi Hendrix. I use the chorus setting to help make softer songs sing and give them added sustain - on heavy song the vibrato setting gives your sound the added punch and added sustain you never thought you could achieve (great for screaming semi-harmonics like Zakk Wylde!).

If you like the recording shown on the website then you'll like it in person. Very popular, but unheralded effect. Once you play with this you'll realize how many guitarists use this or something similar.

I want to be a tone monster

Ask me a question

I read all of the reviews and then bought the Rotovibe. At first I thought 'what's the big deal' and then I began to get a feel for the pedal and layered it with other effects like delay and now I will hurt you if you try to take it from me. I don't know why it sounds like it does but the amazing warm tone it creates and the flexiblity to speed up and slow down the rotory speaker allows you sculpt your sound. Buy one and be happy.

Awesome Pedal! Least Expensive Route!

By BillyDeeWilliams

from Indianapolis, IN

See all my reviews

I bought this pedal after going back and forth on whether i was going to buy a Uni-Vibe or not. Although you do not get the vintage look, you do get a vintage sound. I love the way this pedal sounds. I use it on a bunch of Hendrix covers and on songs that i want to have a Hammond type sound on. I rarely use the vibrato effect but it also sounds great. I decided this was the best route for the cost, features, and it takes up a lot less space on the pedalboard. I strongly recommend this pedal! I waited over 4 years to buy a rotating speaker effect and this was a great buy!

Rotovibe

Ask me a question

I really like this pedal for a few reasons. One it is prabably one the best rotary effects on the market. I've tried other rotary-type effects, and a lot of them mess with your overall volume, when they are on, or they distort the sound. And some sound so fake and digital sounding. This has a very analog sound to it. And when I use modulation effects it's just my preference that they don't cut too deep into the sound, or sort of become the sound, this dosn't do that at all. It colors the tone like it should without wrecking your base tone. The toe/heel variable speed is really nice to make adjustments on the fly. Overall a very good pedal.

Great pedal with great sonic potentials

By bls_mississippi_chapter

from Biloxi, MS

I bought the Rotovibe solely because Zakk uses one and I liked the ambient chorus and squealing harmonics he achieves with it. It took a little getting used to but was well worth the effort to play around with it. It's perfect for a lead player who's looking for that "one little thing" their sound is missing.

This is one of the greatest pedals ever it is good for Jimi hendrix pink floyd and etc. I love this pedal and will never part with it. I use it like this. Fender stratocaster into jimi hendrix fuzz wah into zakk wilde overdrive into Rotovibe into marshall micro stack. It works like a dream.
