Don't Forget

The antidote to harsh and lifeless sounding digital pedals.

Got the digital blues? Coat your guitar in warm, organic tone. The Electro-Harmonix Analogizer Guitar Effects Pedal thaws out digitally processed guitar, and gives you the sound and feel of an analog delay without the long delay times. Boost your solos with up to 26dB of gain. Fatten your sound. The Analogizer is the antidote to harsh and lifeless sounding digital pedals.

The ANALOGIZER can be used in combination with other effects devices. Experiment with any combination to develop your own unique sound. The footswitch toggles between effect and true bypass modes.

GAIN - Controls the input gain of your ANALOGIZER. The available gain ranges from 0 dB to +"+26dB. As you turn the GAIN knob clockwise, the GAIN increases.

SPREAD - Controls the delay time of the ANALOGIZER. The delay time range is from 3.5 mS to 65 mS. As you turn the SPREAD knob clockwise, the delay time increases. Adjusting the SPREAD knob in the lower half of its range will produce tonal variations in the effect; adjustment in the upper half of the SPREAD knob's range can be used to thicken up your sound.

BLEND - Varies the mix of direct and effected signals from 100% dry when set to counter-clockwise to 100% wet at full clockwise.

VOLUME - Controls the output level of the ANALOGIZER. As you turn the VOLUME knob clockwise the volume at the output jack increases. The VOLUME control is after the BLEND knob in the circuit.

INPUT JACK - Connect the output of your instrument or another effects pedal to this jack. The input impedance presented at the INPUT jack is 1 M.

AMP JACK - Connect the AMP jack to your amplifier input or the input of another effects pedal. This is the output of the ANALOGIZER

STATUS LED and FOOTSWITCH - When the STATUS LED is lit, the ANALOGIZER is in effect mode. When the LED is off, the ANALOGIZER is in true bypass mode. Use the FOOTSWITCH to toggle between the two modes.

The ANALOGIZER comes supplied with a 9 Volt battery. The ANALOGIZER can also be powered from a 9VDC AC Adapter capable of delivering at least 20mA. The power supply must have a barrel connector with a center negative plug. The optional 9V power supply from Electro-Harmonix is 9.6DC-200BI (same as used by Boss & Ibanez).

  • From 0 to 26db of input gain
  • The Analogizer's warmth can mask the harshness of the digital signal
  • Easy to balance for the right amount of analog
  • Punch in the analog signal with the footswitch
  • Use a 9V battery or a standard 9.6volt DC power supply

Enjoy a warmer, richer sound from your guitar rig. Order today.

Not for everyone

About Me Professional Musician

Comments about Electro-Harmonix Analogizer Guitar Effects Pedal:

Electro-harmonix failed when describing what to expect from this product. When I ordered the Analogizer I had to guess how it would fit into my rig and fortunately I wasn't that far off. Does it make a digital delay sound more like an analog delay? Yeah, I guess so but I believe that is missing the point of the pedal. Basically, it is a boost with a minuscule delay; this can give the impression of a double-tracked guitar.

My main complaint is that it isn't a pedal one can just turn on and forget about. The clarity of the sound is somewhat slurred when the Analogizer is engaged and compromises nuanced playing; not really a surprise given how it functions. So like most other effect pedals, it has to be catered to what particular sound one wants to achieve; it doesn't simply "fatten your tone".

This effect probably isn't going to do much for the regular rock musician. However, for an experimental/ambient/shoegaze musician looking to send their "wall-of-sound" over the top (as I am) the Analogizer can be a powerful weapon.

good idea, but...

Comments about Electro-Harmonix Analogizer Guitar Effects Pedal:

Not so great here. The pedal is a good idea on paper. A slight delay with a boost to "analogize" your sound if you use digital effects. Since I don't use digital effects I jiust wanted to use it as an all-in-one "thickener" for my rig- slight delay and a good boost all in the same pedal. The problem, for me at least, was the spread control. The manual says that at the lower range of the spread knob sweep the EQ will change and in the upper sweep it wil affect the delay time only. I found that the EQ changed 2-3 times during the sweep of the knob. Unfortunately at he part of the sweep I liked as far a delay time, the EQ was pretty trebly. I could not arrive at a happy medium and sent the pedal back.
A lot of potential tone shaping in one small, inexpensive pedal.
Like all EH products, well made and gig worthy.
EH packs in a lot of bang for the buck. Compare their pedals to some other that are similarly priced and it's a no brainer.

Didn't really compliment my rig very well. Not a bad product. But very minimal effects.

Comments about Electro-Harmonix Analogizer Guitar Effects Pedal:

This pedal is an extremely subtle, nuanced effect. The main effects are one of two: either a darkening, "analogizing" filter, or a 3.5-65ms delay. The "analogizing" filter, in the lower half of the spread knob's usable range, takes bite off of your signal and seems to roll off some treble and mids, making your tone sound like a constant analog delay. This area of the spread knob has darker, metallic, and thining mixes to it. The second half of the spread knob is a short delay, from a chorus-like effect to an echo-plex like delay. The blend knob blends your dry and analogizing/delayed signal together.

The spread knob's work, particularly in the lower half (analogizing) could have been a bit more dramatic. Also, it would have been nice to use the delay and the analogizing effect together. But for 70$, this pedal can improve your tone through taking some bite off a distortion, or thickening up your sound.
