Drive Circuit and 4-Band EQ for Controlled Tone Shaping

The Magellan 800+ bass amp head's redesigned drive circuit delivers a wider range of harmonic content and natural compression, moving from subtle warmth to more aggressive, tube-like textures with a responsive feel under the fingers. Footswitchable activation allows seamless transitions between clean and driven tones in performance settings. Complementing this, the active 4-band EQ provides precise tonal control, with two sweepable midrange bands covering 120Hz–2kHz (low mid) and 330Hz–3.7kHz (high mid). Together, these controls allow players to fine-tune punch, presence and articulation across a wide range of musical styles.

Variable HPF and Dual Contour Voicing

The onboard high pass filter (HPF) offers adjustable low-frequency control from 25Hz to 120Hz, helping tailor the amp’s response to different cabinets, stage volumes and room acoustics. Meanwhile, the Magellan 800+'s dual contour circuit introduces two distinct voicings: a mid-scoop curve for modern clarity and a low-mid boost with a tapered top end for thicker, vintage-inspired tone. Both functions are footswitchable, allowing real-time tonal shifts without interrupting performance.

Lightweight Aluminum Design With Flexible Connectivity

Housed in an aircraft-grade aluminum chassis with an extruded front panel, the Genzler Magellan 800+ is built for durability, efficient heat dissipation and easy transport at just 6.25 lb. Dual SpeakON outputs support multiple cabinet configurations down to a 2.67-ohm load, while a full complement of connectivity—including effects loop, headphone output, tuner out and a direct output with pre/post selection—ensures seamless integration on stage or in the studio. Lastly, a thermal-sensing variable-speed fan maintains stable operation, and the universal power supply automatically adapts to 100–240V for international use.
