OVERVIEW

Get in the groove and let the good times roll.

Imagine 1,200 watts being pumped straight into three 310 speakers, with no need for additional speaker cabinets to attain full power. The Groove 310C Bass Combo Amp is a powerful amp. The cabinet itself is taller and deeper than usual and the cumulative result, well, let's just say that General Patton would have been proud.

The Groove 310C has the same functions as the Groove 1200 HD: the Active/Passive input switch, 9-Band Graphic EQ, tone controls with EQ Shift toggles, etc. Speakers are exclusive designs from Eminence and built in the USA. A compression horn handles the high end and includes its own Volume Attenuator on the back of the cabinet. Output connectors are Speak-On and the cabinet is made of 18mm plywood with spring-loaded handles, a heavy vinyl covering, and protective corners.

The Groove Bass 310C excels in any environment where tone and power must be matched with a more convenient size. Welcome to the future of Bass. Welcome the Groove 310C.

First thing first, this "combo" is BIG!!!!...i was expecting something a little smaller... but no matter, it still rocks!!.It stands slightly taller than one of my MESA Powerhouse cabinets and is deeper...Now for my review.. i must say.. it is really nice for the price... it doesnt seem to 'color' the sound as much as some other amps i have owned, and i like that. The controls feel a little 'cheap', but they are very responsive to adjustment and they 'actually' do what they say, again unlike other $$$ amps i have played and own. It has AWESOME low end, which i love, i would dare to say that these 3x10" speakers have more LOW END than both of my Mesa cabinets combined... this alone impressed the hell out of me...i LOVE the footswitch with a MUTE and SOLO ( which increases signal 6db)...as for portability, it is HEAVY but increbibly managable, i was able to load and unload the unit in the back of my Blazer alone... although i will be asking for assistance in the future. The tilt-back casters are nice and the pull handle is comfortable.. it rolls with great ease being as it is so heavy..

So I finally determined to buy this amp. Low cost for a lot of wattage, and all the ratings seemed satisfying. I was excited when I opened the box. I thought it was going to be a standard power cable like the amps I had before, but it was a built in cable. OK, no big deal, I'll just have to be careful not to damage it when I move it around. I took it to our studio. The depth is greater than the width, so the wheels on this amp were too narrow and small for its size. This huge amp will tilt over easily if there is a bump on the ground. It is poorly balanced and very inconvenient to transfer. So we were practicing for the first time with this amp. The volume was not even on 1/2 power and I can hear it rattling. I thought maybe the screws were not tight so I pulled out a driver to tighten it, but the rattling continued. So the "Monster" cannot handle half of its own power. Shortly after, I see smoke coming out of the speakers. I turned it off immediately, and never dared to turn it back on. I was peaved and over with this amp within the first few minutes. I returned it and got a full refund, so Musician's Friend is trustworthy.I hope that my experience helps, and that no one waste their time like I did. Hey, maybe it was just this one amp.

The low tone gods smile on this one!

By The Dunn Duck

from Rootsville

I love this amp! It has more than you need to be heard or more importantly...Felt! You will have more than enough power to get your chest pounding, subliminal, grooves, out to the masses. While the E.Q. can get you in the ballpark, as far as tone, plan on a sans-amp or pedals/effects to make it really work. Bottom line: Sweet tone without watts is useless! Who's gonna hear it? Do yourself a favor, buy this modestly priced monster; then shape your tone with pedals, preamp s ect. and you will be a happy Thumpmaster too.

I purchased this amp, and it's sound, crisp and versitile. I plugged in my 5-string, hit a few runs on it & everyone on stage looked at it like wow.

Heavy duty amp

Well like the rest of the reviews lately, I got this amp after a rather long wait. It was well worth it, yes it is made in China, but you would be really suprised on how many things are now days. I'm sure Kustom has some form of Quailty control. You know they have been making amps for over 40 years. Now back to the amp, it has a very good sound after you get the E.Q. set, It is also very well built it has a horizonital 3/4 inch plywood divider between every each speaker and they are ported. A very sturdy amp. Although its to soon to tell about long term I'm thinking it will do just fine

3 Months wait...

By Sobriety Saves

Alright, so I waited 3 months for this monster. You open it and you're all giddy and confused at the 9-Band. And then you tinker with it for a while: It's loud enough, the 9-Band is pretty cool, the Sub, Shift, and Define switches are sick, the whole head is awesome, good features. Small feature loss which is a big deal, is overdrive, off my little GK stack, I miss overdrive a lot. Tinker with the 9-Band, you can get a sort-of drive. But this thing is so versatile, Tones for Cannibal Corpse in C on a 5 string to Jazz upright on a fretless in standard. The footswitch is pretty awesome too, specially when at big volumes at a few shows so far, the mute button has helped, even the Solo gain is really nice to have. If you're gigging musician, to a chilling musician, this combo is solid. Kustom did good.

Tired of battling volume-unconcious guitarists?

By Mutt-w0hb7

from Monroe, LA

I bought the Kustom Groove 310C after a grueling search for something with POWER and affordability. I have been nothing less than ecstatic about this amp's abilities! At practices, I'm able to bring some serious sound to the table when the guitarists decide to crank their rigs. With the 9-band EQ, I've been able to get the sound that I've been looking for. I played my first show on this amp last night, and this amp caused the ceiling tiles to shake without having to mic it or hook-up the direct out. The only negative thing I can say is that one of the corner caps busted within a few days(more than likely an effect of clumsy handling.) Other than that, I couldn't be happier with this amp. I recommended it to all the other bassists that were drooling over it at last nights show.

Incredible Sound

By Denise Roberts

from Georgia

I grew up seeing this amp back in the 70's in clubs, but never saw again until I began playing in a gospel quartet group in a church. As we played through it I could'nt believe how good it sounded and kept commenting on how good it sounded and turning around to see who it was made by. Kustom is a product that has been around along time I thought they had gone out of business, keep up the good work

This thing will knock down the neighbor's house!

By Billy-fphVV

See all my reviews

When a friend recommended I check out the Kustom Groove 310C combo, I thought, "no way am I going to get that kind of power for that price." But lo and behond, it was true. As soon as the amp was delivered, I tore it out of the box, hooked it up, and blew my own head off. This thing has -power-. Turn the master volume up a quarter of the way, and it rattles the light fixtures. The 9-band EQ is great for dialing in exactly the sound you're looking for, and the toggles for the high, mid, and low controls allow a wide range of adjustment. However, there were 2 issues: the mute button on the included footswitch didn't work on delivery; the clip indicator fails to actually indicate when signal from the bass is too strong. I tried 2 difference basses with active hardware just to make sure, but if you have it set to "passive" with active EQ, this amp distorts something wicked. But all in all, there's no way anyone's going to get anywhere near this power at this price.

avarage unit, you get what you pay for(or less)

By BassMusicDude

from nc

i waited for ever to get this unit and was dissapointed first by the print outside the shipping box ... MADE IN CHINA ... when i read the manufac. description and it said the speaker were made in USA, i assumed(oops!)that the unit was made there. Not so, the control on the front and rear are cheap quality (what you would expect from CHINA) and looks like you need to handle them gently or these delicate angels WILL break. Sound quality was average (again you get what you pay for or maybe a little less); i plan to save my pennies and buy a tubed/vintage unit next time in the future .. those babies are more expensive but the sound is unsurpassed!! This unit is one heavy puppy ... keep that in mind if you want to be mobile. BOTTOM LINE: it probably isn't the worst unit out there, however, if i could do it again, i would kick in more money and buy better(USA made); things made in CHINA are what they are: CHEAP AND MADE IN CHINA. PS - i still enjoy dealing with musiciansfriend ... they are really helpful people!

Ask me a question

Being a Bassist from the ole school. I grew up with Kustoms " tuck and rolle " amps. They were the thing back in the day. Brothers and sisters, let me tell you this 310c amp kicks. I had to endure a long wait, almost two months from the time of order. But when it arrived it was everything I asked for and more. Great quality sound, I even tried my cheapie bass, made it sound like a concert hall. Yep, ya all if you're looking for a amp combo that performs, believe me get this one. Now it is a beast as far as weight, better get help if your're going to be taking it up any stairs. But besides that. I'm keeping it simple. This thing shines........Ed New Mexico.

GROOVE BABY!

By P-FUNK-uTLjY

See all my reviews

I began my search for a performing bass stack when I happened to come across this monster of a combo. The deal seamed to good to be true. A portable high powered stage quality amp for this price, I could not have been happier with the performance of this product, uncanny tone and volume, a deep tube like bellow of sound. The 9 band eq sounds superb. I?ve never played through an amp quite as nice as this one. The amp is not as compact and portable as it seams. It is a monster of a combo, more like a stack attached at the head, and very heavy! None the less, I can?t deny it of its stage presence and tone. HECK OF AN AMP!

MORE POWER THAN GOD!!!!

By Mason

from Souther Idaho

This thing kicks like a friggin mule! I got this amp recently with a lot of hope and even more worries. I knew with all the watts it would be plenty loud, but I worried that with the dementions, it would be too skinny to fill a room. But, with a price like that and a wallet like mine, there was no question. I am way more than satisfied with this BEAST. I practice weekly and play avid shows in a ska/punk band and this thing has more than enough capability to hit all the highs and lows I hoped for and fills a room just fine (although the people who stand directly in front of the amp will obviously hear it a bit more). The biggest issue I have with this MONSTER is the weight and awkwardness. Just tough to get it in and out of your car, but once you turn it on, you forget about that and all you can do is drop your jaw.

Powerful Amp!

By FenderAmericanDeluxeJazz

Just got this beast yesterday. I had to wait quite a while for it about three months. but its exactly what i expected after reading just about every review on the net. i was a little sketched out because of the price but as of now i absolutely love this amp. finally i can keep up sound wise with the rest of the band. its a heavy piece of equipment so you might want to plan for some help moving it around. all in all great buy at this price you probably wont find anything like it on the net

Died in 4 days.

By DaBassMang

I realy hoped this amp was all that. I waited almost 3 months for it. Right out the box I was disapointed, there was a scuff on the top speaker, but I plugged it in and it sounded nice so I thought I could deal with a scuff, no big deal. 4 days later I was practicing scales at a very very low valume and it made a strange berp sound and stoped working completly. Power would come on but no response at all. Maybe just a dud? I hope you have better luck then me!

BEAST!!!

By Chazz_V

I got this amp yesterday after 2 months of waiting... And let me tell you, it was worth every second of waiting. This monster, with the gain all the way up, at 1/8 of the way up on master volume rattles my whole garage. At 3/8 of the way up, I can hear it over my friends' Marshall half-stacks set on 3/4 of the way on master volume. I'm telling, you, this thing is powerful! And the sound quality is beautiful! NOTHING can beat this kind of power and sound for this price, and I mean NOTHING! You gotta hear it to believe it... Order now before the waiting time is set back even further!

holy low end

By stvgallardo

from Mchenry, IL

First, let me start by saying I can't believe the power this thing has. It is great because you do not lose any tone in return. I play a schecter c-10 and let me tell you active is the way to go for bass. That is another story and argument. the different tones I can dial in are amazing between the head and pickups you can find anything you could imagine. now about me title. I have played through quite a few of different setups and this thing pounds. I have played 6x10's, 4x10's w/ 1 15", and 2x10's w/ 2 15's and let me tell you this thing is like playing 10's with a 15' but you don't get any sloppiness because of the 15" speaker. This combo (if you can even call it that) is for beginners and pro's alike. If you are into metal to blues to jazz this combo is for you. ps if you are tired of guitarists thinking the are the only ones that have solo's the solo boost is for you. Nice job Kustom. oh and you will be amazed like I was that 3 10's can handle this power to have the beautiful tone they have. AWESOME COMBO (rig that is portable)

WHHOOOOAAAAA

By bassmasta-_rV_A

from Greenville,PA

This is probably the best amp I have ever owned, this thing puts out a TON of sound for what it is. I don't think the head and cab match up too good but it puts out some good sound. And as long as you don't turn it up close to orall the way your sound will stay good. But I'm buying a second one of these suckers so if anyone's thinking on buying it make sure you wait a lil bit cuz I wanna make sure I get it.
