This 30 watt combo delivers 3 channels of great tone to take to any gig and saves your back while doing it. Clean channel is great with nice digital reverb. Global effects loop for leads and/or using across all channels. Great Laney styling in a compact 112 combo. Have yet to check out the DI. You can dial in most any tone you hear in your head if you spend the time to balance out the tone stack against the push pull boosts. Being an AOR fan I am in love with this little guy, although this combo will do more than metal and do it well. My only complaint is local availability to trial the amplifier before purchase. I bought it on the Laney name alone with confidence I could return it to MF if it didn't meet my expectations. This amp is a keeper and my 412s are going to give this guy a rest for a while.

It took 6 months to get this after ordering. The box arrived in good condition but when I unpacked it the back panel which protects the tubes was laying inside the bottom of the amp. When I tried to reattach it I realized the screws would not tighten-sent it back. The 2nd one had a standby light that would flicker on and off- sent it back. The 3rd one has the same problem as the 2nd. Am I just unlucky or does Laney have a quality control problem?

Comments about Laney Ironheart All-Tube 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo:

Don't hesitate. When it is available, order it! The tone is unreal. Usually I have to dial in the tones I like, this one sounds great in every position up and down the adjustments. Some call this a metal amp, but that would be selling it short. You can dial in killer metal tones, hard rock, classic rock, blues... and the clean tones? Fogetaboutit! Stop wasting your time like I did thinking about this amp, pull the trigger now and start enjoying it sooner. I haven't played my electric this much since I first started playing 25 years ago. This amp will rejuvenate your passion, because it sounds like tube amps did back in the day... when amps had balls AND tone. And don't worry , its plenty load enough to play with a power house drummer, I cleanly soar above a beast on Custom DW drums with the watts and volume at 5 (straight up).

Comments about Laney Ironheart All-Tube 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo:

Well, where do I begin. I've owned a hybrid Laney amp before, so I decided to trust the brand and bought this without testing or anything. Once again, Laney surprised me!
You've got a lot of functions in this combo for a very affordable price. Three channels, where Clean and Rhythm share the EQ but have separate gain and volume; and a Lead channel with separate controls. On top of that you have a control for pre-boost, which helps you rock on solos and pack an insane boost in it.
Another thing very nice to note is that this is a very versatile amp. You can get warm cleans, crunchy overdrives and crazy high gain sounds just a tap of a footswitch away.
Also, you have the tone, dynamics, reverb and watts control. The dynamics are very subtle and more noticeable in higher wattage (about half way up), but really help you tweak your tone. Reverb is very sweet, and the watts control can also be useful, although I found much better leaving it up with low volume for bedroom playing (the warmth of the tubes becomes darn sweet).
Anyway, Laney got it again. Amazing amp with lots of options which will probably satisfy most of the public seeking for quality and versatility.

Comments about Laney Ironheart All-Tube 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo:

First came in contact with Laney amps about 35yrs ago when looking at guitar/amp combos to learn on.
Laney was highly recommended as the only amp I would ever need by a professional country/country rock player ( yes thats right, not a metal guy, a country guy!).Decades later,( looking for my second amp as I am playing some now, my first amp, though not a Laney is a top brand ) saw this and took a chance...it is more than expected, maybe not a Vox or Fender on clean tones, but has a very warm punchy sound that is excellent for anything other than "twang". Crunch and overdrive...the sky is the limit...all my overdrive pedals are now for sale!

Comments about Laney Ironheart All-Tube 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo:

I ordered a Condition Level 2 that came available immediately after the Condition Level 1 that I ordered arrived damaged last week. I already wrote a review about all that. I received the second one in exactly one week turnaround time (not too bad). Just too bad it also arrived damaged due to the packing job - they used just the brown paper stuff instead of the normal 8 corner foam blocks. It was supposed to only be "blemished", but it was broken, however, NOT electronically (yay). So I called MF rep and told her I would keep it IF I was given a Condition Level 3 price, because it still worked. She checked with her manager and we came to an agreement. It had a dented corner guard, which I removed, hammered out, repainted flat black, and replaced. It had a stripped-out back panel support bar that was on the floor of the shipper. I used new, wider screws, and re-installed it. The "blemishes" were just some dry paint job drips on one handle top and a couple very superficial scuffs on the black Tolex (in less visible areas). Other than the shipping damage, the thing would have been quite nearly mint. The amp totally functions fine in every way, and is NOT damaged electronically at all. Now it is physically "fixed" also, and under a one year warranty as well! It even looks only mildly "used". I love the three channels and 4-button foot switch. I wish it had come with the manual and cover, but oh well, I saved a lot of money for a small hassle. I want to emphasize that MF is fair and reasonable in their customer service, and will listen to your side and believe you! I offered to send pictures of it right out of the box, and they said that would not be needed. I am so impressed by their service. JUST talk to them if you ever have a problem, they really care. Their agents are superior in their treatment of people. I feel they really respected my customer loyalty and regularity of buying from them over any other vendor. I plugged in my 1960 Les Paul Tribute Plus.....Mmm.....

Comments about Laney Ironheart All-Tube 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo:

Very versatile amp with a lot of useful features and a great sound. It's like having three separately adjustable amps. I run my pedals on the clean channel and they sound great, or I can easily run them on the other two channels for maximum gain. The pre-boost is also very helpful. Besides all this the amp has a great clean tone.

                As I said, I couldn't be happier.

Comments about Laney Ironheart All-Tube 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo:

I'm a gigging musician playing lead guitar for a local rock cover band. Got it on a Wednesday, plugged in, tweaked it and gigged with it on Saturday! I use a Mesa Mark V 25 with 2 1x12 cabs stacked vertically. I decided I wanted to go to a 1x12 config, but did not want to carry a head. So obviously a combo was my only choice and the Laney stood out for its price and features. I always thought Laney was a metalhead's amp, so I avoided them. Until now, I put my faith in the reviews and ordered it. Well its an awesome amp and has become my go-to gigging amp, replacing the Mesa. Tough job, but its handling it well.

Clean channel is surprisingly warm and useful. Breaks up a bit earlier than I thought it would, but that could be my EP booster (on zero) pushing it over a bit. Rhythm channel goes from mild crunch to raging distortion. Very wide range of usable tones. I set mine at 3 and I have a solid rock crunch for the bulk of our songs. The lead channel is more gain than I have ever needed in my life even for metal to be honest. You lose clarity after a certain amount of gain, and so at about 5 or 6 on the gain for the lead channel you are above and beyond what most amps can deliver. If I want a bit more in any of the channels, I just set the boost to about 5 and hit it. Works well so far. Only one gripe, if you hit the boost in the clean channel the volume jumps up quite high.

Other features...The dynamics knob is very subtle, not sure what its doing really. The Tone knob is very helpful. Allows me to dial in the right amount of brightness or warmth based on the guitar I am using. It seems to control the overall tone of the amp. Now for the best control of on the amp, the wattage control. I have mine set at 10:30, not sure how many watts but it works well for my gigging situations. Now I have been using the wattage control as the master volume and its been working well so far.

Effects loop works as advertised and the DI is fantastic.

                    Service and delivery comments:

                    Backordered, but that's a good sign! =)

Reliable , powerful , have tried bringing out my old overdrive/distortion pedals and put them away...you can get any drive sound you want here, and the cleans are warm and strong and with the pre boost you can get great aggressive clean tones....highly recommended..

Great, well built tank of a combo! Seriously the best in its class I'm going to have to say. People I see complaining about the lower wattage fizzle sound issue may be a wee bit hyper critical because I've had no issue at any wattage that would Warrent a complaint. It is high gain and while boosted this beast will remind you of that. I got a Rocktron guitar silencer and now whatever i pump out of it is pure metal mana! I may dig out my old TS9 but to tell you the truth, I'm totally happy with the on board boost. Best my coin could buy and i couldn't be happier! Oh and the cleans ain't to bad neither.

I had it narrowed down between this and the Peavy 6505 combo. I could get a sound I wanted without cranking the the 6505, so that settled it. This amp can get into that gain territory with a simple, cheap BOSS SuperDrive. The EQ is not as sweeping and responsive as I would have liked, but an EQ in the effects loop helped. My only real complaint is how noisey it can be when your on the rhythm or lead channels with moderate gain. With the boost engaged, noise city. I have an MXR Smart Gate taming that beast.

Comments about Laney Ironheart All-Tube 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo:

This truly is the best amp that I have owned. This is an awesome sounding amp! The three channels sound so good I will be removing my overdrive, distortion, and boost pedals from the chain. Yes, the rhythm and lead channels sound a little fizzy at <1 watt. So what. It's wonderful just being able to hear the driven tubes sound without losing my hearing. If you turn the watts up and the volume down a little, the slight fizzy sound goes away. The cleans are bright and clear. The rhythm and lead channels can be tuned to any level of blues, classic rock, rock, metal, grunge, that you desire.

You'll have to pry this amp from my cold dead hands!

Amps that I have or have owned in comparison Peavey Classic 30 White (with Celestion V-Type speaker), Laney Cub 12R, Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G120 DSP, Acoustic Lead G20.
