Comments about Markbass Traveler 121H Rear-Ported Compact 1x12 Bass Speaker Cabinet:
Ladies and Gents, I too have read these reviews several times on these sites and found most of them were biased at best. Well in all honesty, I am not affiliated with Markbass or MF so I offer you an honest review. The Markbass Trav 121H may be one of the BEST sounding cabinets I have played in my music career. I have paid for school and two houses on my musician income so I feel that I am qualified to offer this review.First off, its light. But don't let that fool you. The sound is HUGE. Deep, crisp, full and NON-colored. Its a perfect cabinet for small to medium venues. I played a 200 seat showcase last weekend and was commented to by other musicians on how 'lifelike' my bass sounded. I play Fender american (1967-2008 models) and the sound is intense. The dial-in tweeter is wonderful in that it takes the cab from a SLAP machine to a full midrange giant. In the mix, the sound is absolutely beautiful.Rear ported so not overly boomy but just the right amount of projected bass. Folks, try this cabinet out. You WILL be dually IMPRESSED!!! Likely the warmest cabinet offered in the MF website. (and yes, I have owned and played Ampeg, Aguilar, EA, Epifani, etc...)

Comments about Markbass Traveler 121H Rear-Ported Compact 1x12 Bass Speaker Cabinet:
I'm downsizing my rig, and wanted something lighter than my 70 lb. Bag End 2 x 10. I play an Ibanez SR505 bass customized with US made Bartolini preamp & pickups. The 121H isn't much smaller than the Bag End, but at half the weight, it's a back-saver. I compare the 121H at times to my Bag End, which is very loud, has a massive deep bottom end, and a laid-back midrange and top.
When I first played through this cab, it was like I was playing a different bass. I could hear much more of the instrument itself. With the Bag End, switching to different pickup coil combinations gave somewhat muted variations. The 121H on the other hand, revealed a fabulous J-bass setting, a great P-bass version and of course, the warm voicing of the instrument itself. The difference was astounding.
The sound of the 121H is smooth, detailed and revealing across all 5 strings. Not overly heavy in the bottom end, but not shy either. It has a fairly prominent upper midrange which seems to be the case with neo drivers, but I think it's better-tamed in this cab then others I've heard. I've had to clean up my technique a little because fret and string noise (which my Bag End masked), comes through loud and clear. Turning down the upper midrange (around 900 Hz) does away with fret noise as well but the cab sounds so good, I don't want to mess with the eq. The port is on the back, with no chuffing at higher volumes.
The bottom end is rich and full and plenty deep. When I EQ'd only for those low B-string fundamentals, they are not that prominent – and the specs bear this out (by way of comparison, the Bag End has deep fundamentals in spades), but in practical playing terms, the 121H sounds fantastic and well-balanced from the B-string on up. BTW, I sold the Bag End…
Comments about Markbass Traveler 121H Rear-Ported Compact 1x12 Bass Speaker Cabinet:
For it's size and weight, it puts out a big sound. I have it paired up with the matching Markbass 2x10 Traveler and am feeding both of them about 775 watts, total. I've always used 10's because I never liked the "muddiness" of 15's. But the 10's don't reproduce the lows of the 5-string bass very well. So I gave this 12 a try and it makes a great stand-alone, too.
Comments about Markbass Traveler 121H Rear-Ported Compact 1x12 Bass Speaker Cabinet:
I traded an Ampeg BA 500 W/ an SVT 18 inch extension cabinet to get this little 12 inch cabinet along with a Little Mark III head... THIS RIG SOUNDS AMAZING!! I love the true tone that this rig produces for everybass I own. I switch basses and dont tweak nothing, it makes every bass I own sound like it supposed too...will add a second cabinet soon, not that it needs it. The direct out works great but If I play outside or in a big venue. I just want a little more "woof" from the stage.

Comments about Markbass Traveler 121H Rear-Ported Compact 1x12 Bass Speaker Cabinet:
I got this 8ohm cabinet at a reduced cost for smaller venues where my 4ohm 104HF is too large. So far I been able to blend into small to medium sized room without micing or use of a PA. This cabinet will cut through or blend in to just about any type of acoustic or full band mix. It won't exactly shake the foundation like the 104HF cabinet will however the difference between the two cabinets seems to be almost unnoticeable. I am very impressed with this cabinet.
