Old Blood Noise Endeavors Iota Tone Generator Pedal - Zenith Silver

Turn your pedalboard into a playground for electronic sound with the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Iota, a standalone tone generator and sequencer that creates its own melodic patterns, rhythmic pulses and evolving textures without requiring an external instrument. Designed as an electronic instrument in pedal form, the Iota combines a customizable oscillator with an intuitive sequencer that lets you select root notes, scale intervals, octave and range to build musical patterns from the ground up. Dedicated controls for pitch movement, rhythmic variation and envelope shaping provide extensive opportunities for experimentation, while randomization and pattern-based sequencing keep sounds moving in unexpected directions. Once a sequence is running, your hands are free to manipulate other effects or instruments, opening up new possibilities for layered performances and evolving soundscapes. With onboard presets, expression pedal support and comprehensive MIDI control, the Iota brings a new creative dimension to your pedalboard.

Customizable Oscillator and Sequencer for Creative Sound Design

At the heart of the Iota is a versatile oscillator that generates its own sound, paired with a sequencer that determines how notes unfold over time. Select a root note, choose scale intervals and establish an octave and range to create melodic patterns, then adjust the rate and direction controls to shape their progression. Dedicated skip and hold knobs introduce rhythmic variation through random behavior or 16 selectable patterns, while the scramble function rearranges notes for unexpected melodic results. The OSC control shapes the oscillator's voice, complemented by a noise blend for additional texture. Glide creates smooth transitions between pitches, bend introduces vibrato-style movement and swing adjusts the rhythmic feel of the sequence. From repeating bass lines and melodic phrases to unpredictable electronic patterns, the Iota provides extensive control over the pitch, timing and character of its generated sounds.

Expressive Envelope Shaping and MIDI Control Expand Possibilities

The Iota's volume envelope adds another layer of expression, with mix, shape and length controls that determine how each note develops and decays. Up to 12 onboard presets allow you to store and recall favorite configurations, while MIDI expands access to 127 presets and provides control over all parameters, including tempo synchronization via MIDI clock and root-note selection through MIDI notes. Expression pedal support enables real-time adjustment of the main controls, and the auxiliary footswitch can be assigned to individual note triggering, tap tempo or preset switching. Global preset overrides offer additional flexibility over which settings change when recalling sounds. With mono or stereo output options, the Iota integrates into a wide range of pedalboard setups, allowing its generated sequences to interact with delays, reverbs, modulation and other effects. Whether you're building hypnotic rhythmic patterns or exploring unconventional electronic textures, the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Iota offers a hands-free foundation for creative sound design.
