OVERVIEW

Affordable bass amp combo with remarkable features.

The Session 77 is remarkably affordable 100W bass combo from PJB. By using all digital circuitry, the amp will work on any AC voltage from 100 to 260 Volts without a voltage selector. It features a single channel pre amp with a 3-band EQ. It also has a separate auxiliary input for backing tracks. The combination of the two proprietary 7 in. speakers and a 2 in. tweeter gives full range reproduction of all basses with stellar clarity. The Session 77 is the result of our effort to build a budget conscious amp without giving up our quest for quality. Focusing on the most basic needs of most bass players, we achieved the goal of having the best sounding, most reliable amp at an unbeatable price.

Comments about Phil Jones Bass Session 77 100W 2x7 Bass Combo Amp:

I needed to find a small, lightweight bass combo amp that I could use for rehearsals and gigs with an acoustic band. I did a lot of research before purchasing this amp, and considered many other brands including GK, Ampeg, Fender, Ashdown, and Eden, among others. After watching a demo of this amp on youtube, I knew this was the right amp for me. This amp has excellent tone and enough power for small to medium sized gigs. The build quality is better than any other amp I've seen in this price range. The combination of great high fidelity sound, portability and ease of use just makes this the perfect bass combo. Highly recommended.

Comments about Phil Jones Bass Session 77 100W 2x7 Bass Combo Amp:

Hello all you bass players out there! If you are looking for a small, portable, powerful, excellent sounding bass amp, then look no further...this is the amp you have been searching for! I have been a guitar/bass player for 50 years, and have owned a multitude of amps, but I have never heard a bass amp like this! Don't be fooled by the small 'footprint', or the '100 watts' power--this amp is KILLER! The TONE, power, and ease of use is by far the best bass amp I have ever played/used. Kudos to Phil Jones for creating a GREAT bass amp that most musicians can afford! Thanks Phil...:)

Comments about Phil Jones Bass Session 77 100W 2x7 Bass Combo Amp:

I wanted to love this amp, and I do as far as it goes, which is unfortunately not far enough. The sound is perfect all the way up to fully cranked, but the volume it achieves is not anywhere near what any musician expects from a 100 watt amp. I set it next to my old 70 watt amp and fully cranked it would not match the volume of the 70 watt amp set on a very conservative 3. The 70 watt Hartke amp set on 5 achieved fully twice the decibel level of this Phil Jones amp at full volume. The only gig I could imagine playing with this amp would be a tiny coffee house jazz duo where volume must be low enough not to force the two women at the first table to lean toward each other to whisper snide comments about the waitresses ugly earings and run the risk the waitress wouldn't hear. That's hyperbole, it gets louder than that, but suffice it to say, it doesn't get very loud. It will not replace another 100 watt amp. On the bright side, the sound is amazing at low volumes, the perfect little practice amp that lets you hear every tiny nuance, and it would be a useful studio amp if the drums are completely muffled and in another room, because you will not hear yourself in the same room with anyone but a meek and tippy-tappy jazz drummer with social anxiety disorder. If you want a great little practice amp and are willing to pay this price to get one, this is for you. If you want a gig amp for small gigs, this will not meet your needs at all.
