Don't Forget

Improve the dynamics and versatility of your bass with this killer compression pedal.

The Studio Bass Compressor was designed for professional bassists looking for a compressor that can provide increased sustain, accentuated picking and can even out single-note runs. It's extremely low noise and has an easy-to-use control format: The Blend knob allows you to control the amount of wet signal so you can bring natural snap back into your individual notes. The Volume knob lets you to control the output (or you can push it up and lower the Compression for a great clean boost). The Attack knob regulates how quickly the compressor reacts to your initial pick attack - cranking it up will give a late attack that allows your pick or finger dynamics to come through before the compression kicks in. The Compressor knob is the heart of the pedal and allows you to easily control the dynamic range, while the Low/Full/Mid switch determines the frequency content of the dry signal being blended in with the compressed signal, making it easy to bring back your dynamic range.

The Studio Bass Compressor is incredibly versatile: you can easily go from a subtle compression that gently smoothes things out all the way to a high compression that balances the dynamics in slap-style playing to keep each note from being too harsh or overbearing. Rock players can effortlessly summon powerful midrange punch while maintaining a fat bottom end. Bassists who prefer a more vintage sound can dial in a nice even mixture of top, mid and bottom frequencies.

Subtle Compression: Add just a little compression to your overall tone to even things out
High Compression: A large amount of compressed tone mixed with very little dry signal which is great for smoothing out the dynamics in slap-style playing and keeping the pulled notes from becoming too harsh and overbearing
Sharp, Fast: Add a little sparkle and punch to your top end without sacrificing any of your low-end tone
Reggae: Give your sound that fat bottom end you need to have for reggae, funk and world music
Round and Fat: Great for ballads, Motown, and anytime you want a vintage tone with a nice even amount of top, mid, and bottom
Punchy Rock: Add an aggressive midrange punch to your overall tone while maintaining a fat bottom end

Comments about Seymour Duncan Studio Bass Compressor Effects Pedal:

I've only used the compressor twice since I received oit last week. So, this is a review based on that limited experience. However, I will say that the compressor has tightened my sound dramatically with a great warmth that was noticeable immediately. The sound is warm and round with the sound of the bass allowed to come through with no coloration.
I do church services in a school auditorium with that "gymnasium" sound. There is annoying echo and boom that needs to be contended with. The SD defeats these problems admirably. I'm happy with it. So far, I have used the most basic setting for "light" compression and then add to the compression slightly as the services progress. i have not taken it through all it's paces as I don't need any extreme settings, just basic compressed tightness without squashing the sound. It instantly accomplished that. There's a booklet of settings that comes with it. it's very easy to use. It's all good at any setting so far. If you decide to go with this compressor, you will be very pleased.
